It’s really dumb to try and get a scoop on this when the da clearly played the media earlier when it was reported the grand jury left without charges. Just wait for Tuesday

But how reporters go to bed at night knowing they didn't seek out the ultimate scooplet.

Lindsey Graham says Trump should 'smash some windows' and 'punch a cop' on his way to being booked

Graham, a close ally of Trump, appeared to be making a joke playing off conservative complaints that DA Alvin Bragg doesn't prosecute other crimes.

The whole they are soft on “real” crime but go after petty crap like this angle is so annoying. White color and corporate crime is so much more damaging to most people but they just don’t see it and don’t notice the theft directly. The millionaire and billionaire class gets away with so much. Lock them all up. If we have a minimum wage, we need a maximum wage.

You are telling the ruling class to police itself. Not gonna happen. Just get rid of wages per say. Like they still exist as a transition but every company needs to become a worker owned coop yesterday.

My idea being we are in this position so there can be more billionaires and millionaires. There is no way like Nancy and her husband's stock can't be interpreted as insider trading. I agree with you but you stop at a maximum wage.

there is a typo here that makes this even more true

So, say we have a scenario where Trump is so swamped in this legal quagmire that he is effectively out of the race. Then you have DeSantis who apparently is doing everything possible to fizzle out before he even starts. Who becomes the heir-apparent to the Republican party?

There is no such scenario

Agreed.

If Trump were taken off the ballots and was spending his nights in a cell bloc the Republican base would still write him in to 50% of the vote, at least.

If we were to entertain the hypothetical you are really exploring it's the GOP's worst nightmare. What are they after Trump is gone? After a decade of being his personal cum rag I don't think anyone in the party truly knows the answer to that question. That's why they keep running back to him despite being a 3 time loser.

Trump will make a spectacle out of every aspect of this, but he doesn't want cameras in the courtroom because he knows that, despite his antics, there's no getting around the fact that there is one boss in that courtroom and it ain't Donald Trump.

God damn I hate that we live in a reality where this will be given serious discussion on national news outlets rather than being used as evidence to remand crazy grandpa over to a mental institution for his own safety until he is assessed fit to stand trial.

Disappointing, but not really surprising. Unlike the lack of cuffs or a mugshot it doesn't seem like special treatment for Trump. Judges will often bar cameras from a courtroom if they are worried it will become a spectacle.

Unfortunately this plays right in to Trump's hands. He will turn every aspect of this trial into a spectacle except the one part he can't control.

Will be interesting to see if the judge attempts any kind of gag order. If I remember right, Stone got his ass thrown in prison for running his mouth too much after the judge had given him a gag order.
