What games have you purchased lately?

Chris-

Recommended Posts

The holidays yielded many PSN/Nintendo eShop cards, as well as plenty of Amazon gift cards, so I've been on a bit of a tear. Within the last few weeks I've purchased...

KOTOR (Switch)

Ghost of Tsushima (PS5)

Hitman 3 + Hitman 1 & 2 Access Passes (PS5)

Metroid Dread (Switch)

  • Chris- changed the title to What games have you purchased lately?

Most recent purchase was Red Faction ReMARStered as it’s on sale for $2.99 on the eshop and I mean the destruction is still sadly easily some of the best in gamingZ

Before that I got Spongebob and Sam and Max Season 1 on eshop sale as well. Sam and Max lured me in with the demo but then I haven’t played much yet but I LOVED the original and never played these so I do really want to now that it’s on switch.

Spongebob is fucking killer and I’m nearing the end of that.

In December, I bought:

Death's Door
Tony Hawk 1&2 Remastered

Hades (double dipped for PC)
Gears 5
Gears Tactics
Dicey Dungeons

Blossom Tales
Samurai Gun
Unravel 2
December Humble Choice (Greak: Memories of Azur, Maneater, The Survivalists, etc)

Shadow of the Tomb Raider

Salt and Sanctuary
Loop Hero
Paper Beast

Neon Abyss
Need For Speed Hot Pursuit
Stubbs the Zombie
Shemnue III
Two Point Hospital

As far as new games go, not many. But I've been taking advantage of the holiday sales and snagged up a few that I've had my eye on for a while. I'd say the newest games I have are Crysis Trilogy Remastered and Grim Dawn... neither of which are really "new" but they're new to Xbox.

I'm really just waiting for Elden Ring and Dying Light 2. Those will probably be my first "new" purchases in a while.

Thanks to gamepass and epic game store giveaways (and being piss broke) I have barely bought anything this year, but downloaded a ton of a good freebies. The only one game I bought was Guardians of the Galaxy (XSX, just finished last night) because of good word here on the boards and Xmas gift cards to Amazon. Almost bought Immortal Fenyx Rising but can wait it out for a freebie/gamepass. Somehow I also had like $100 that I don’t remember buying/receiving on my Xbox account too.

CyubeVR, This game would be absolutely amazing if it had survival tactics/mode. Easily one of the best worlds to explore and craft in VR.

Pistol Whip, kinda underwhelming but I'll give it another go and see if I can get into the flow.

Synth Riders, This game is my leg workout. So many obstacles to duck under and bounce back up, my legs will hurt for days after this game. I usally try to do an hour of Ragnarock then a half hour to an hour of Synth Riders.

I bought Guardians of the Galaxy for PC and then Everspace (the first one). Kind of in that lull period of not having a game to play next, so might just sit out gaming for a short while until something awesome gets released.

? Play Guardians of the Galaxy...

Didn't really like it. It's made well, but really didn't like the combat. Really felt like I was just watching the game rather than contributing to it.

I understand your point with the combat. That was definitely the weakest part of the game. But the story and characters were so captivating that it made it worth a playthrough. Oh well, it's up to you obviously. It's a solid title but different strokes etc.

After doing very well compared to my usual spending freely on any and all games without any kind of control on the amount, I started this last 18 months or so to really only buy very select games for the most part. The last week though I really fell off the wagon . . . lol!

I've been playing Grim Dawn and really enjoying it. After finding that I owned it already! I've put over 40 hours into it in two week by far the most hours in a game the last 2 years in that time frame.

I'm still playing GD but I caved and bought Diablo 2: Resurrected, Borderlands 3 {11.99 on steam sale}, Elden Ring, Pillars of Eternity, Satisfactory, Tranny, Disco Elysium and Mario Kart 8 {replacing the copy I lost in the fire}. That's far to many games to add to a HUGE backlog already. I really need show some restraint...lol

This when I'm really wanting Dying Light II, and a few others on Switch. So...To answer the Op's question. I'm playing Grim Dawn :Dunno:

I'm starting to think we might be similar in gaming tastes, so I just bought Grim Dawn, and we'll see if it scratches that itch of a game for me. I tried Elden Ring but as I'm mostly a PC user (without a game pad), it just didn't work for me.

If you like Diablo type games, I'm loving Grim Dawn. I went in not reading any builds guides or stuff like that and it's a tough learning curve in the late game and you can reach the later parts of it and find your build just simply does not work. I didn't mind that. I started over 2x already. Once at around 10 hours and once around 25 hours. I love learning how and what the mechanics works and it's quite fantastic I think.

I own Path of Exile {LOL It's free} too and that game is simply overwhelming for me. I'm a 80% PC and 20% Console gamer. Bought Elden Ring on Series X, Grim Dawn and Diablo 2 Resurrected on PC. Also Pillars and Tyranny both PC and Borderlands 3 too. It's going to be awhile before I get to D2R or Elden Ring. I also Started my first games in GD "normal" but Veteran mode. when you start normal story you have the option to check the veteran box for a slight difficulty curve but better loot and faster leveling. I own the 2 expansions to but am holding off starting the Forgotten one until I clear the entire quest log Even at lvl 63 I have over 20 right now, 8 are bounties that are optional. If you turn one in, you can immediately start another and I always do. Seeing's how how there are at least 5-6 different places to get bounties my list never seems to go anywhere...lol

   Enjoy GD man!
