That trailer was horrible. 4 hours? Of course Snyder would want to make it so ridiculously long. This will likely be a dumpster fire and I’m definitely watching it as soon as I can

Now that i think about it, it would HAVE to be four hours in order for him to fit in all of the KEWL SLO MOTION SHOTZ.

Snyder has three moves:

1) copy comic panel by panel

2) slurp Leonard Cohen and / or Ayn Rand, ideally simultaneously

3) slomo destruction porn

To be fair his Dawn of the Dead remake was pretty good... he had two things going for him though.

1. It was a remake of a classic

2. The script was written by one JAMES GUNN.

People getting worked up over a song clearly meant to be a troll. Lol keep up the good work D1P. Lemme slide over to the video game boards to see what unreleased games have already been deemed as unsalvageable trash as well.

So what's the strategy here? You put a troll song in the first trailer for your director's cut of a garbage movie? Why?

I'm with you. The song felt out of place, but the editing and footage were genuinely well done. Now, I really disliked Batman v Superman and Justice League was meh. But I do in general enjoy Zack Snyder's films, they are fun if nothing else. The thematic throughline of the heroes looking at loved ones was cool I thought, and the song and editing started working better later in the trailer I felt, when it did some long pauses for dramatic effect.

It was also cool to see it was all exclusive footage. I dunno, this looked better than what we got I think. I'm definitely at least morbidly curious. But yeah, I wouldn't have gone with that song. It came off as extremely overwrought at the start. It got better, but yeah. It is indeed one of the worst parts of Watchmen, a film I otherwise like a lot. Otherwise though, cool potentially.

Snyder fans are the film version of Elon Musk defenders.  They will find any hill possible and die on it.  When people started roasting this trailer for the hilarious choice of song, they all went to bat because it’s supposedly a tribute to his daughter as her favorite song.  When people pointed out it’s even funnier that he used his daughter’s favorite song for the flaming ejaculation scene, suddenly it became a troll job to the haters.

Snyder is a mediocre film maker that has a viewpoint chuds seem to love and so they bend over backwards to dick ride.  If you ever needed proof that Snyder shouldn’t be allowed to tell stories look no further than Watchmen, a film which clearly missed the point that Rorschach is not a hero.  How does one miss the symbolism of a character with black and white morality leading directly into brutality and fascism?  Fuck if I know, but Snyder sure pulled it off.

In an alternate universe, Snyder is one of the best makers of movie trailers for the big studios, but has no input on movies themselves. That's the one thing he's good at.

This is all the fault of that Gears of War commercial from like 15 years ago. The whole slow version of a fun song played all serious over slow motion violence is so tired and completely played out at this moment, that anything that falls back on that trope in their trailer falls back like 50 hype points in my mind. Come on people.

I haven't liked a single Zach Snyder anything I've seen. All terrible. Even Dawn of the Dead which most like. Fuck that movie. (I'm too much of a fan fo the original to ever warm up to that movie at all).

I didn't watch the original and I won't watch this. Don't care.

No one batted an eye when they did it to DMX in the CrossfireX trailer!

I give Fisher the benefit of the doubt over Warners. Guy has a lot to lose even if what he says is true because minorities who call out bad corporate behavior are often labeled as trouble makers in their industry. Can’t imagine him being so vocal if his claims are false. Warner and any other big company will lie about anything and everything, even stuff that doesn’t matter.

Which I like (I believe Ray Fisher for now over WB too), but then why is he doing a Snowman adaptation for Geoff Johns and Jon Berg if they are two of the three main parties who hurt the person you say you stand with? It's just a voice role, but still, strange. What is meeting up like for Momoa, Johns, and Berg after this when they work on Snowman?

From that EW piece, they're making it sound like Fisher didn't like what was happening with his character, wanted changes made, was upset when nothing changed, and tried to go up the food chain to complain.

It's at that point I imagine some conversation with Whedon along the lines of "stop making trouble with my bosses or you'll never work in this town again." Such a conversation would likely sour the working relationship afterwards, to put it mildly.

Certainly there's no possible professional way to threaten someone's career, full stop. It's not hard to imagine that happening, and it's not ok by any stretch.

Not that it would be justification at all for such a threat or any other kind of abuse, but it would be kind of a dick move to take character complaints all the way up to the President of DC.

Because he's contractually obligated to do so. Plenty of people work with people they can't stand. Momoa is a big enough star at this point that he can take the risk. Plus I think he's directed his ire more at Wheedon than Geoff Johns and Jon Berg. I don't Momoa cares for Wheedon that much.

That's very likely, that makes sense! Those must be some awkward AF recording sessions though now. :p

This is the corniest shit ever and I can't believe it keeps being utilized, and worse, seems to be beloved.

Self-indulgently affected covers of great, classic songs would be one of the first things forbidden under my impending fascist regime. There, the cat's out of the bag D1P and terrible covers made me do it....I WILL REIGN!!!!!!!!!!!
