Useless? She’s a direct threat to the nation. She’s probably the 2nd most dangerous member of this administration.

I actually agree. A lot of the egregiously racist stuff that gets Miller all hot and bothered will get instantly thrown by the next Democratic president once Baron can't be voted to a third term in 2048. The stuff that she's done isn't sexy enough to make national news and will likely leave a more lasting legacy.

The problem is that the federal government shouldn't be involved in education.   The most they should do is issue guidelines, not dictate policy.  We don't need a Department of Education.

In an ideal world, sure, but there are a good number of states that just can't be trusted. Not only that, bit there's also a nontrivial number of states that can't even afford to keep schools open without a great deal of federal assistance. If my tax dollars from Massachusetts are going to keep schools in Kentucky open, there should be some form of federal oversight into how Kentucky is using that money.

Those are more Republican Voters Against Trump or maybe even Biden official campaign style ads. Lincoln Project is explicitly designed to paint trump as weak and rattle him personally.

The difference is the editors in charge of most media are conservative leaning or sympathizing and are the ones jerking over the content that Lincoln project puts out. Sure maybe they can put out ads that highlight policy issues but that ignores or misses why they get the play they do in the first place.

So, they are concerned about how many times he has been "wrong," but I don't think that means what someone normally would assume. In this case, "wrong" likely means that Fauci predicted something within a range, and then later changed his predictions/advice when new data emerged - something doctors and scientists should do. But to people in this administration, changing your opinion shows weakness, so Fauci changing his beliefs even a bit would show them that he is an idiot who doesn't know what he is talking about.

That's my take, anyway.

Quote

Slipock says he has a better plan for stemming surging cases: Shut down casinos.

"With tourists coming in from California or the hotbed of Arizona, the possibility of casinos bringing in COVID-19 is a lot greater than my regulars who live within three miles of my bar," he said. "I understand the position the governor's in if he shuts down the Strip again, but don't hurt little guys like us."

As Nevada grapples with the unrelenting spread of COVID-19, what are the odds the Las Vegas casino corridor – the state’s central economic engine – closes next?

Anti-mask activists are a thing now I guess.

Same thing happening here in Nevada but I'm not sure how big the group is. It doesn't seem like they have a lot of supporters.

They're concerned that Fauci is seen as more trustworthy and reliable than Trump. So now they have to tear him down and destroy his reputation in order to appease the man-baby.

And he isn't a sufficient kiss-ass to trump. Big reason right there!

This thread is harrowing.

My wifes mother is a health care worker, and a (black) trump supporter. It’s literally mind boggling. My wife has tried to talk sense to her multiple times, but it’s impossible. She believes she can keep her beliefs and her job separate. But she still refuses to wear a mask outside of work, which is incredibly irresponsible for a health professional.

I should clarify, she isn’t so much a Trump supporter as she is an “anyone who is pro-life” supporter. She doesn’t subscribe to his racism, but refuses to vote for anyone who supports abortion rights.

Compartmentalization.

Reminds me of people with degrees and jobs in science fields who believe in Creationism and think evolution is an atheist hoax.
