Even with his incredibly corrupt group of assembled lackeys, Trump couldn't get the Justice department to open an official investigation into Biden. If he had, there would actually be some cover here. It would still be corruption, but at least there could be some fiction to hold up that Trump was working on behalf of the country, furthering the cause of American justice. No way--it's not as if, should Trump be removed from office, the Democrats will get to pick their favorite replacement. If Trump indeed gets removed--which won't happen anyway, but even assuming it did-- the half of the nation that feels aggrieved will suddenly have a rational conservative in the executive chair to represent their interests. I wouldn't even be surprised if large swathes of Republicans secretly breathe a sigh of relief along with Democrats should it somehow impossibly happen--the former get to vote for Mike Pence, who will likely spend less time tweeting infantile tantrums and more time responsibly governing, and the latter don't have to worry about four years of a completely unhinged Trump.
