brucoe Posted July 6, 2021 Share Posted July 6, 2021 Lately, I've been playing Paleon, which is in early access (I usually don't play early access games). It's kind of a watered down version of Rimworld, which I liked but just could never get into because it always seemed to be missing something that I could never put my finger on). It's basically a resource gathering type of game that focuses on using experience to increase technology. It's kind of lacking in the later stages of the game (meaning, I suspect that it's not completely finished yet, or it hasn't given any thought to what happens after you develop gunfire). Work and life is still too busy to really game at the moment, but I’m hoping over the summer holidays I’ll have some time to get an actual game or two finished. I might just finish FF7:R and then play something on the DS I’ve not touched as I’m pretty sure my wife will be playing Breath of the Wild for the next few months. imthesoldier Posted July 6, 2021 Share Posted July 6, 2021 I picked up the STALKER trilogy on Steam as part of the Summer Steam Sale early last week (along with ReCore: DE, and Halo MCC). Even though I bought the game when it originally released, I wanted a digital version, and so I'm playing through Shadow of Chernobyl again. Despite how janky of a game it is, the AI still holds up tremendously well in 2021, and the game definitely rewards you for patience. It's a flawed game that at times is made better with mods, but it's still a good prototype of a game. I look forward to playing the other two games, plus STALKER 2 when that eventually comes out. I ended up going with Metroid Fusion - so far, so good. I love the GBA era (and that era of Nintendo in general). It was all very assured, very much treading familiar ground - all fantastic. Either way, I think modern Zelda owes a lot to its stamina meter use. Other than some small vsync issues at the main temple, the PS4 60fps mode holds up great. Started PM Oragmi King too recently. I'm playing on the PS5 and it's crashed twice in about 6hrs of gameplay, and other NPC glitches where they'll disappear or be standing 10ft in the air lol. But other than that, it's pretty awesome imo. And graphic wise, it's gorgeous in 1080p and despite it's scale it seems to run at 60fps.
