@GameDadGrant Love Esquire coming to the Switch in 24 hours!

Lol sony don't want it

What about other consoles?

  •  PS Vita - Unfortunately, Vita stopped accepting new games on the platform a long time ago. There's nothing we can do about this, so Love Esquire sadly won't become available in the Vita platform. :(
  •  PS4/5 - For years we've been trying to reach out to Sony and applying to get dev kits, but we're not getting any responses. We'll keep trying, but we really can't promise anything at this point. :(

I bought Spelunky on a whim, it was like $3. It took me a minute to wrap my head around it all, how you're supposed to play, but I've been really enjoying it and made it to the second world so far.

Goddamn this game is hard...

...and also, I might be into rogue-whatevers now, hell has indeed frozen over.

Now that you know you like it, time to skip over it completely and play Spelunky 2!

It's the same but better and even includes most of the stages from the first game.

I didn't realize it had the stages included as well. I'm having a lot of fun with this one so far. I also just figured out you can hit "Quick Restart" and don't always have to start by walking to the shortcut again, big difference. Currently trying to learn the second area, the jungle. I thought the Mines were brutal, damn.

Yeah I believe the sequel has branching paths and one stage is new and the other one is the stages from the first game and well I'll put this in spoilers in case you care enough about discovery

Spoiler

Even the end boss of the first game, Olmec, is the first boss in Spelunky 2.

I'm about 2/3rds of the way through Mass Effect 2 on the legendary edition, maybe even 3/4ths. I can definitely feel the end game is coming around the corner as I finally recruited all of my side characters, and other than a few loyalty missions with a few of them left, I can see that Winter is definitely coming. Looking forward to 3 after this, but just playing through the first two has been kind of exhausting (but fun).

Dishonored 2. This game is amazing but the sound mix is seriously busted to the point it detracts from the game. The enemy sounds and voices make no sense in terms of directions and distance even on headphones making the stealth aspect way harder than it would be with a proper mix.

Like an enemy behind a door one floor up sounds right next to you for example. It sounds extra fucked up after all this time playing Returnal.

I played and beat Dishonored 2 and don't even remotely recall having sound issues. That is interesting.  🤔

RE: Village. I’m quite close to the end of the game and I’ve really enjoyed it. It’s not the best RE game I’ve played, but top 5 easily (at least so far). It’s been a fantastic action game though.

Once finished, on to Luigi's Mansion 3, which I’ve played about 20 minutes of and shockingly, really like.

Hades is fantastic so far, enjoying it more than expected.

Going through Ghosts of Tsushima right now. It makes me want to re-watch Seven Samurai and Yojimbo.

After putting it on hold for months I'm two boss fights away from finishing Sekiro.

Finally got unstuck in Bloodborne and ripping through that one as well. Man I'm all for games that don't tell you where to go or what to do but having to backtrack to some random previously visited areas several lanterns ago to progress further is a bit too abstruse for me, but aside from that few complaints.

Well, finished Mass Effect 2 today and then immediately started in on Mass Effect 3. Was a little thrown off by the inventory management for 3 as I couldn't understand what they were doing with it or how to make it work. Once I figured it out, I found myself on the fence as to whether or not it was a good design decision. I'm only a few missions into it, but still undecided on whether or not the story is working for me. The graphics are great, of course, but weapon management seems a bit of a step back from 2. I'm under the impression the developers really love Garrus because he almost always seems to show up at the beginning of the game and lodges himself into the adventure. The "AI becomes human" trope they went with felt very much like stolen right out of Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda.

~20 hours into Watch Dogs Legion....  It's OK.  The mechanics are different from a lot of other open world games, but having a variety of characters to play as doesn't really add to my enjoyment.  I think the storytelling/gameplay/etc. would have been much better if they had stuck to one protagonist.  I'm mostly sticking to using two of the "Prestige" operatives -- Aiden Pearce and Wrench.

Early on, stealth really wasn't an option -- but as the tech tree has opened up, stealth has become the default mode for me.  I know everything has to be an RPG nowadays, but hiding the basics of gameplay behind upgrades really hurts the early impressions of this game.

But, as I am getting into the "meat" of the game -- I am starting to enjoy the mechanics.  It's probably a game I'd give a mid-to-high-70's score to.

Just finished Mass Effect 3 and that was a great ride. I cannot believe I never played the series when it first came out. Did this exact same thing with Dragon Age series and Fallout.

I know time travel doesn’t exist because I kept playing those shitty sport games and shilling our 60 bucks for roster updates.

Finished RE: Village. Great game and definitely one of the better games I’ve played this year. Now I need to wrap up the last few chapters of FF7:R. Ridiculously, I was out walking my daughter and decided to play Pokemon Go for the first time. I love a good walk, so this might liven up our route a bit.

I thought I was done with COD:Warzone, but I keep getting sucked back in. >.<

Skyward Sword - I've made it through the third dungeon, and after a classic bit of "backtrack and do a bunch of random shit" I've made it to a new area (yay) that looks like it'll involve a lot of swimming (boo)

EDIT: damn, Skyward Sword, really?

Spoiler

Gonna send me back through a dungeon, already?

At least is was fast.

I've been having a lot of fun with Spelunky but not really getting anywhere with it so I think I'm gonna give up on it for now. I can't unlock the second shortcut because of a specific requirement. Game is insanely hard, goddamn.

Also, on the last level of Dishonored 2. What a great, great game. I do wish I had played it on a higher difficulty though, it's too easy on Normal.
