I support this, but it will be interesting to see how many people willfully violate the new rule. The governor did say that businesses that are found to not be enforcing the rule can be fined or have their operating licenses pulled. In California my grocery store put up a sign saying you had to wear a mask. I think I only saw one person not wearing one. It's the same as the answer to the question "if we've been open for a few weeks, why aren't cases rising?" - just give it time. The average time from diagnosis until death is 20 days in the US. Add seven to 14 days from time of contraction before diagnosis, and there is a three to four-week lag from rising cases to rising deaths.
