Are those images actually encoded with HDR?  Even if so, most web browsers wouldn't support viewing them with that color range.

The bottom one is without HDR. I would imagine the top one is. People should try it for themselves though. It’s an entirely different game visually with HDR off. It looks leaps and bounds better.

Another tip for anyone playing with a controller whose accidentally skipped cutscenes bc they tried to crouch or un-crouch (who thought mapping the skip dialogue and crouch to the same button was a good idea?). Go into gameplay and at the bottom there is a setting to change skip cut scene by line or continuous. Change to continuous. This forces you to hold the button down to skip.

I'm definitely doing that because I noticed how flat that scene looked too when I was playing. Still, it didn't make me " sad"... wtf? Oh and im playing in quality mode.

I was just reading this and somehow the usage of the word "sad" in this context offended me much more than those shitty graphics.

I finally got my PC configured correctly for my LG C9 running 4K at 120hz with Gsync and it's been awesome. In nightime 4K using ultra performance DLSS I'm getting 70-85fps in night time of Night City. We'll see how it does in some of the more demanding areas, but it feels really fucking good at that frame rate :p

That PC shot is being a bit generous too I think?  I played on PC, and looking at my footage, it seems it didn't appear nearly as nice as that image portrays it.  Maybe time of day affected the lighting as mine was much brighter.

There was probably some tweaking of that image... the internet often lies.

I dunno man, I feel like that’s what it looked like on ps4.  I’ve been trying to brighten my screen. There seems to be darkness almost always on the edges of my screen.  Just washed out darkness. In the tutorial area I could barely see the walls when in corners.

You're saying the PC Image looked like the PS4? The base PS4 or the PS5? Because I admit his series X shot looked a lot like mine.

For some reason HDR isn’t an option when playing my PC copy. I have it running from my PC directly into my 4K Sony tv but I am unable to toggle hdr on or off. I will probably try running it directly to my JVC 4K projector and see if that option opens up then. Some odd commands don’t react right away with my hour or so gameplay last night. I can look right at the object hit the X button on my Xbox controller and doesn’t do anything. Flick my head around and back to the object and then my X button command works. Weird, but at times a little frustrating. Game looks nice and lively

Now I’m confused.  Is the dark image supposed to be the good one or bad one lol?  My looked dark, everywhere is dark.  Ps4 base

The dark one is the good one... I mean, it clearly looks better than the brighter one don't you think? Much moodier and it hides some of the flaws in the character model.

Similar boat - 3080 and a 4790k 32gb ddr3 ram, we are bottlenecked by cpu and and ram speed unfortunately. Only thing that helps somewhat is overclocking the ram speed since it’s so much slower than ddr4.

For me it’s as soon as I turn any ray tracing on at all in the game I hit a bottleneck and can’t get to 60fps no matter what I adjust.

If you find anything that helps with that pls @ me!

Thinking that your PC is a good rep to the experience that I probably would have I think? I do not have the 3080 {I FRIKK'IN WISH} but I have a 9700k and 32 gig ddr4 3200 and of course only a 2080Ti ? Thoughts?

You have to enable HDR in your window display settings first.

The dark one is the good one not for being moody and hiding flaws but it clearly has better lighting and you can see even in that screenshot much better textures, just look at the wrinkles on that guy's forehead that might as well not exist in the second picture. :p

"Hiding flaws in the character model."

Dude I'm just expressing my simplified opinion without fucking the frame... can we agree that it looks better than the other one at a glance? I didn't whip out a magnifying glass and examine the picture. He seemed confused as to which one looked better period.

No your experience will be different. The thing that affects me more than even the cpu speed is the ram speed. Mine is dd3 so it’s 1800mhz, I have to overclock to 2000 to get better results, your ram is way faster by default and the cpu is much newer and more efficient.

You will probably just have a more normal bottleneck from the gpu side with the 2080ti. You should be able to just more easily lower res/settings as needed to play it at 60.

I bought a new Predator laptop earlier in the year and I have no idea how you guys know all this shit about your computers, I'm totally illiterate apparently as far as computers go. Is there usually a comprehensive screen in Windows where I can pull all these esoteric numbers, model numbers and what not from to determine if some game can even vaguely run on my system? Sorry I know it's a dumb question but I'm totally new to PC gaming and so far the newest title I had played was Prey.

I have been building PCs since I was like 13. Alot of us play on desktops that we have personally built so we know the parts by heart.

In your case you can search for device manager in the search bar. It should open a window where you can check what parts you have. Generally you need to know what processor, how much RAM, and what graphics card you have. With that we can help you determine what kind of performance you'd get.

Hey thank you for the concise answer. I'll do my sleuthing tonight when I get home as I always get completely lost in these topics despite actually wondering whether I could play it or not (well, decently enough).

You can push the start key and type dxdiag and it will tell you all your computer specs

or you could do the same and type system and it will show you system information.

Np. Also since it's a laptop it may have like stickers or documentation mentioning what it's specs are.
