January 6 Insurrection live hearings. UPDATE: Trump unanimously subpoenaed by committee

So far the entirety of the Trump presidency looks like a Scorsese crime saga like Casino or Goodfellas…. can we skip to the part at the end where the bosses tie up all loose ends by killing off the people involved? or are these criminals too sure of their safety because their voters will never believe the facts spitting them in the eye?

Weeks after the 2020 election, a Chicago publicist for hip-hop artist Kanye West traveled to the suburban home of Ruby Freeman, a frightened Georgia election worker who was facing death threats after being falsely accused by former President Donald Trump of manipulating votes. The publicist knocked on the door and offered to help.

FUCK THIS GUY.

FUCK THIS GUY.

I mean, definitely fuck Kanye, but if you read the article, it seems to say she was working for Trump at the time?

Either way, she should be charged for uttering threats at the very least.

"A representative for West said Kutti was not associated with the music star when she met Freeman. Pierre Rougier, a spokesperson for the rapper, said on Sunday: “Trevian Kutti was not associated with Kanye West or any of his enterprises at the times of the facts that are reported in these articles or since these facts occurred.”

Is there a quick summary available?

Trump doxed a lot of these election officials in news letters and what-not, even revealing some cell phone numbers (sometimes at his rallies). Almost all of these people had Trump supporters showing up at their houses, threatening them and/or family members. Giuliani gaffed to Rusty Bowers (AZ) that "we have a lot of theories, but no evidence" after stating multiple times that he "had evidence". I'd definitely watch the Rusty Bowers testimony, it was very "holy shit". They also had previously unreleased footage of the AZ statehouse being illegally "invaded"... led by the QANON Shaman dildo.

The first three witnesses were also Republicans - in fact, Bowers and Raffensberger were vocal Trump supporters before November 3rd.

The differences between big media Republicans and local ones; national media plays along and these assholes got too high on their own supply.

Fuck Kanye because his ignorant ass allowed himself to be used by these people because of his unfathomable ego. My point stands. FUCK KANYE.

It's so hard to wrap your head around.

This might be my lizard brain lefty partisan side talking, but whatever... I think a big part of the problem is that the both parties (but mainly the republicans) have spent the last 30 years or whatever turning every single mole hill into a mountain. Every single political incident is elevated to this monumental dire catastrophic event. The volume on everything is always turned up to 11, because that shit works and it keeps the base fired up and motivated voters. But deep down, they all know that it's nothing but a bunch of meaningless garbage. When they spend years acting like Benghazi or an email server or a few thousand immigrants in a caravan or trans athletes or whatever it is today is some sort of existential crisis for the country... they know that it's just a bunch of nonsense. Every single person knows it deeps down. They know it's all a bunch of shit and they're just playing a game. It's all treated like a sporting event or high school debate club with everyone always trying to score points or get the other side with a zinger... anyway, they've been doing this for so long that when a real genuine catastrophe hits, they don't even know what to do.

I mean, the president of the United States tried to overthrow the result of an election to stay in power and people are acting like it's just another stupid political whatever. They don't even know how to handle it. It's like, they're so used to everything being nonsense that when non-nonsense appears, they can't even recognize it for what it is.

They're so far down the hole that nothing exists but the game. How ANY republican can stand with Trump boggles my mind. It makes zero sense that they didn't catapult this guy into the sun the very second they had the chance. They were worried he would split the party and take his 20% with him? Oh well. That's the shit sandwich you spent 30 years building, now eat it you stupid fucks. You can't have it both ways. You can't pretend to stand for anything and stand with Donald Trump. You just can't.

The current Republican party is a cult... period full stop. They see the Democrats and progressives as EVIL and a threat to their souls. So they would rather deal with a corrupt, dishonest con man than cede ground to the TRUE evil which is Democrats and their pro gay, non white agenda. THIS COUNTRY IS FUCKED.

That's not a coincidence, that's the actual strategy, to throw so much shit at the wall all the time to make any new shit less impactful (which then makes the other side's legit complaints just fade into the general outrage).

Also, as to your point about all the Republicans knowing deep down that their talking points are garbage...that used to be true, but it's not any longer. What has happened (and coincidentally, is also now happening in Canada with the Conservative Party) is that previous leaders used dog-whistle politics to fire up their more deranged bases. It worked, but over time those deranged people got involved in the party apparatus, and have now started moving into leadership positions. So you had people like Newt Gingrich saying shit he didn't believe in order to win elections...and now you have people like Marjorie Taylor Greene saying those things and believing it. That's far more dangerous because her type will actually enact crazy stuff, whereas Gingrich and his ilk would just promise it and then fail to deliver on the worst of it. But the previous gen's failure to deliver on those crazy promises (like abortion bans, etc) is one of the main reasons the crazies got involved in the party—they voted for people who got them riled up for money and votes but never delivered...so they decided to get involved and get those things done. And now they are getting them done, and it will result in the collapse of the US into either chaos or fascism.

They may have more power in politics than us, but at least the majority of the population rejects this shit. I expect many riots in the coming years, and probably more insurrection too. If it starts to dissolve into civil war, I’m getting the fuck out.

So we are at the “I knew the leopards would eat my face but YOLO” stage now. To accept these things as compromises at this point, the GOP definitely considers themselves in an active war against leftism/democracy.

Yup, Left lives in a we love all and hope we can get you to compromise on things and the right is in win at all costs mode.. it helps that the Right has a clear vision while the left is all over the place

I think we need to be clear—that does not make the left weak or underserving, to have those values. It simply makes them less competitive at winning. We often talk about how the left is "self-devouring," etc. But that's only a negative in the terms of American politics, where any internal disagreement or change of positions is considered a sin. In reality, people arguing over whether to give a homeless person $5 or $10 on the street aren't any "weaker" in their position than a person who says "just shoot the hobo." But American society and politics love strength of opinion and will above almost anything else.

Having said that, this is why the campaign arm of the Democratic Party needs to be detached from the internal stuff, and focus on winning elections. But the party itself should be having constant discussions over what it believes, and that should not be taken as a negative by the media or public.

I agreed from the start. Just saying he's apparently got nothing to do with this crime.

Dude, neither I or the article I posted said he did. That wasn't the point... the point is that THESE are the types of folks he surrounded himself with and he tried to make his position some kind of stance for "individual black thought" when the person HE employed is harrassing an innocent black woman whose only crime was that she tried to help people in her community vote.  I understand the person wasn't working for Kanye at the time... that's NOT the point.

I honestly don't pay a lot of attention to him. Like I knew he went religious maga, but I thought it was just severe, untreated mental illness. I don't know who he spends time with. Just that he should have had his ass kicked for some of the stuff he did to kim after the divorce.

Then why are you going out of your way to cape for him? If he doesn't matter to you and you aren't fully informed about him or his positions, then there really is no need to comment once, let alone TWICE. You're correcting something that neither I or the article alledged... All I said was FUCK KANYE and linked an article which fully explained why I had that sentiment. I didn't need your "clarification" because again, neither I or the article I linked said he had anything to do with THIS particular incident. If anything it highlighted the types of people he surrounded himself with and how they tried to make him a useful idiot in their bid to dilute and suppress the black vote. Same thing they are doing with Herschel Walker and others. So again for clarification, THAT is why I said FUCK KANYE.

How did I cape for him? Jesus, my first words were fuck kanye. I just have never been ok with associating people with crimes they had no part in.  When you posted it, I thought you were implying that Kanye sent her.

Lol more people are watching reruns of Young Shelton and videos of Biden eating face on a bicycle than this. Sucks to suck

Quick Youtube search shows a few bike videos getting 2m or 1m views, while the Jan 6 hearings at large are getting 2+ million, with other videos about the Jan 6 hearings get up to 5, never mind every local news station running stories on the hearings, and nightly news shows getting 7m+ viewers covering it. Not sure where your numbers are coming from?

It's shit like this that makes me wonder if it's even worth it to try and eat healthier, exercise, and lose weight.  If the alternative is dying in my 50s but not having to endure living another couple decades in a theocratic fascist state, what's the point?
