Quote

Echoing other Miami Democrats, Miyar, the Democratic strategist, said Biden aides stiff-armed seasoned Cuban American operatives who knew the terrain from their experience with Obama’s campaigns. He said former Miami Mayor Manny Diaz, former Congressman Joe Garcia, and pollster and consultant Fernand Amandi, to name a few, weren’t tapped for their expertise and struggled to get the campaign to listen to their advice.

Florida Democratic Party Executive Director Juan Peñalosa, too, was sidelined, according to Miyar and a Miami organizer hired by the Biden campaign who did not want to speak on the record. Miyar and the organizer said they had heard that his request for more field programs was nixed for reasons that weren’t explained.

“Juan knows what he’s doing,” Miyar said. “It’s befuddling how many weren’t brought into the fold.”

It's so incredibly clique-based. The people in charge probably thought "fuck those people, my friends/colleagues know what is best." In these types of elections, the smart play is to go after every group hard, especially in years like 2020 when you have essentially unlimited financial resources.

This is the beginning of the fuckery, so should not be taken lightly, but I do have to say if I were working for Trump the time to stop counting probably would have been before Biden was leading

But yes, probably better late than never since it sounds like Biden's lead is only going to widen from here.

NV is way too close for comfort for me right now.

I'm worried that the shutdowns will hurt Biden in Clark/Washoe.  I do think one of the takeaways is that Trumpism is here to stay and it is the GOP right now. The number of minority GOP voters I think will continue increase and that could mean that the demographic shift that the Dems were counting on, may not be a sure thing.

That's interesting, but it only explains Florida. What happened with Latinos in certain other states?

only from my point of view with those that i know, but latinos are largely racist, some dont even realize it. many wish they were lighter skinned and straighter hair, they want to be part of the white community, they want to assimilate at whatever cost.

Ummm...anyone know what the hell this is about yet?

Trump needs about 60% of those votes to make up the difference; 350k of those ballots are in the two Democratic strongholds (Tucson and Phoenix); of the counties mentioned with >10k ballots left outstanding, only one (Yavapai) is at or exceeding the type of margin Trump needs.

So at this point it is much to do about nothing.

Yup. Good chance Donald runs again in 2024.

The only question is will it be for a second or third term....
