  • That he’s running for president in 2020 under a new banner—the Birthday Party—with guidance from Elon Musk and an obscure vice presidential candidate he’s already chosen. “Like anything I’ve ever done in my life,” says West, “I’m doing to win.”
  •
  • That he no longer supports President Trump. “I am taking the red hat off, with this interview.”
  •
  • That he’s ok with siphoning off Black votes from the Democratic nominee, thus helping Trump. “I’m not denying it, I just told you. To say that the Black vote is Democratic is a form of racism and white supremacy.”
  •
  • That he’s never voted in his life.
  •
  • That he was sick with Covid-19 in February.
  •
  • That he’s suspicious of a coronavirus vaccine, terming vaccines “the mark of the beast.”
  •
  • That he believes “Planned Parenthoods have been placed inside cities by white supremacists to do the Devil’s work.”
  •
  • That he envisions a White House organizational model based on the secret country of Wakanda in Black Panther.

What does that mean?

It means the press consciously made a decision not to give Castro the coverage he deserved in terms of his message, opting instead to cover either more sensational things, or more run of the mill offerings.

That conscious choice should be applied to the utter unseriousness of Kanye's "run" to snuff out what little flame there is to his recent statements.

Stolen from twitter, but...

If the press can ignore Julian Castro, they can ignore Kanye.

Remember when Kanye first came out in support of Trump and it was the top news story of that day, and one of the top stories of the whole week? Yeah, I’d love to be optimistic too, but the media is going to cover whatever gives them ratings. American culture cares way more about celebrities than experts. A lot of people didn’t take COVID-19 seriously until the NBA shut down and Tom Hanks caught it.

Umm, that’s because people don’t give a shit about Julian Castro.  All I can do is point to Trump to show how much the media loves pure ridiculous viewer porn. Kanye, and with the support of Elon, is exactly that. The media will love this as well.

Exactly. Julian doesn’t make for entertaining TV the way that Trump or Kanye does. Using Julian as an example misses the mark and demonstrates a misunderstanding or how our media works.

Like i'm not black but i always felt the Wakanda shit should have been super offensive, advanced african society with a monarchy decided by a death match.

I think a 1 on 1 death match that doesn't  happen often is far better compared to civil war where thousands die.

Lol! If Biden loses it WON'T be because of black people jumping ship for Kanye... Jesus Christ! WHITE PEOPLE made Trump President and if he;s re-elected it will be because of WHITE PEOPLE. Own that shit.

Any serious hip-hop head knows that Kanye’s biggest fans are mostly white girls. If he does siphon votes from Biden, it will mostly from disgruntled straight white males are who are disillusioned by the two party system. It will be the “well, fuck it all” vote.
