High-altitude UFO shot down over Alaska

I demand Biden sends out a single squad to the UFO crash site if there is one. Though it sounds like the UFO might have been shot down over the ocean. Rookie mistake can't recover the wreck like that. We'll get em next time. I'm prepared to assist in reverse engineering the wreck.

Boy, we might've really stepped in it now, huh?

Nah, at least according to UFO/UAP folklore this isn't the first time this has happened. Except nowadays the U.S. is doing this weird disclosure-but-not-really-but-maybe-a-little-bit-psych-just-kidding instead of being all hush-hush about it. I once again recommend UFOs and Government: A Historical Inquiry to anyone interested in a sober, academic treatise on the topic (relying almost exclusively on un- and declassified government documents from around the globe). Something's plainly fucky about the whole phenomenon but it's harder to tell what exactly.

The right wing spin on this story is that A: Biden is so weak now that foreign governments are sending flying things over willy nilly, and B: they are complaining that he was able to shoot this down before it reached the states, why not the previous balloon?

Don’t shoot down a flying thing? BAD! Shoot one down before it reaches the states? BAD!

Canada doesn't have F-22 jets, so this could be a problem. Can CF-18s take out balloons at 50,000 feet?

EDIT - nvm, already shot down:

Quote

An unidentified object which was detected over northern Canada on Saturday has been shot down by a U.S. fighter jet assigned to NORAD, officials say. It follows a serious of mysterious incidents in recent weeks.

...

“I ordered the take down of an unidentified object that violated Canadian airspace,” Trudeau said in a brief statement. “Canadian Forces will now recover and analyze the wreckage of the object.”

Trudeau said he had also spoken with U.S. President Joe Biden to discuss the incident.

Safe to assume this is China testing NORAD's capabilities and response times with different types of balloons/objects?

Eh. It's probably at least in part a "Fuck you!" in response to the U.S.'s announcement that they're gonna open new(?) military bases in the Philippines which naturally angered the eternally insecure [Absolutely Not Acceptable - Commissar SFLUFAN], especially since they haughtily declared that the former's waters are rightfully theirs, what with their juvenile seven-dash line or whatever retarded name they gave it. Not like it's the first time they threw a tantrum in this manner after getting "disrespected" (cf. the idiotic missile barrage over Taiwan post-Pelosi visit).

Consider this a first and only warning to knock off the use of slurs - Commissar SFLUFAN
