Me neither. And ironically, it’s the only GTA I ever finished (one of last games I rented from Game Fly).

Me either.....lol

Crazy how this just keeps on paying out for them. I have never Beaten a GTA game but played them all. I only bought GTA3 back in the day. They were all great tech each one pushing what platforms they were on to the limits. GTA5 is still doing this now with all the mods and such. GTA5 is the only one in the series that I couldn't really get into, butt used more so as a Benchmark for my gaming pcs. Also I have never even sniffed the online portion of the games. Obviously they remain popular and there is really no incentive to hurry and release GTA6 bring in this kind of cash year after year! Sucks for there fans that patiently await a new game. Few devs can ever sit back and release a game every 10 years...lol

I think I read somewhere that these sales are typically just because GTA online players get some sort of bonus points that is higher for buying the game than paying directly for the points via the game’s store. It is the only thing that makes sense of it to me.

I do not understand the insanely widespread appeal of this game, I really don't. Is it that good, that fun...what am I missing here? I played it for about four hours when it came out and sold it.

No clue. Over the years I've owned the PS3 and PS4 version. I recently payed the fee to upgrade to the PS5 version. It doesn't seem as fun as I remember. The random npc/character dialog has really turned me off. The constant swear words as you are walking or driving around becomes grating.

I only ever beat the PS3 version and I feel like it was longer than it needed to be.

I get it's probably a great game if that's your cup of tea but goddamn, how is it THIS ubiquitous. It's totally baffling to me.

GTA Online

It baffles me even more that I don't know anyone personally that plays the online. My friend circle has always played popular games and been through the countless multiplayer fads at the time. GTA was never part of it. I wonder what the average age is of a heavily invested GTA Online player.

Actually, this might be it for me too. I have some serious Power-Bros on my PSN list from my heavy gym days. All they play is huge multiplayer shit and I've never seen any of them play it, heard about it at the gym or anything.

GTA games have never been a big draw for me.  GTA 5’s significance for me is that it’s the first and only GTA game that I’ve finished.

I prefer the over the top craziness and pure fun of Saints Row, though the jury is still out on this new one.

I've been trying to find another game to play with a friend of mine that's a very casual gamer. I was thinking it would be fun to play through the GTA5 campaign together, but as far as I can tell, you can't do that. Am I correct? Seems odd that they have the technology, but never got around to co-op campaign.

I've still never actually logged into GTA Online. I finished the campaign before it came out and never got around to trying it.

You're correct - the campaign is single-player only.

Imagine if Rockstar ported it to Switch....:daydream:

cant be hard to do it, im sure theres one of the eight iterations that might work on Switch..

The thing in discussing GTA V is how often people say that GTA IV was vastly superior as far as story mode goes.... I just dont get it. I liked Niko just fine but the campaign to me boiled down to doing a series of missions, meeting new group of handlers who would give you another series of missions that ultimately boil down to drive here and kill so and so.... GTA V has a nice chapter format where each mission functions to build towards each heist.. much more memorable and varied gameplay.

Yea, it’s technically a PS3/X360 game, the Switch is more “powerful” than either of those consoles so I don’t think a port to Switch should be that hard.

I also played it on PS3, then once again at some point after it was released on PC. I think I dabbled in the multiplayer for a couple hours, but got bored pretty quickly.

It just sucks. It has now officially been over 10 years since the release of Max Payne 3, which means Rockstar has only made one game in the last decade (RDR2). Rockstar has like 7 development studios, and all they do is make shitty remasters and new content for GTA Online. They don't even Support Red Dead Online anymore, it's been a year and a half since the last update.

edit: my bad, didn't actually include GTA 5 in that count. That came out 9 years ago, not 10.
