~*Official #COVID-19 Thread of Doom*~ Revenge of Omicron Prime

Recommended Posts

Well, we've seen it on a state by state level where red states refused to learn the lesson from others. In the latest example of Republicans locking the door after the robber is already in the house mask mandate is now in effect at the White House.

Earlier on Friday, the White House had reportedly decided to forego making any official changes to its coronavirus protocols because things were apparently going so well over at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. Even after Donald Trump tested positive for COVID-19, not only would White House testing regimens remain the same, one official told the Associated Press facial coverings were merely “a personal choice” and would not be mandated.

Then came news late Friday that Trump would be airlifted to Walter Reed Medical Center. Suddenly masks were the order of the day. “I have never seen so many WH staffers wearing masks at the same time throughout this entire pandemic,” CNN White House correspondent Jeremy Diamond tweeted along with a photo of mask-clad White House staffers awaiting Trump’s departure. Even White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany, who had conducted an entire indoor press briefing on Thursday maskless, was pictured donning a face covering.

Turns out the new mask policy was mandated by White House national security adviser Robert O’Brien, who seems to have clued into the fact that not mandating mask wearing in a White House where any number of staffers could be infected was 100% insane. White House staffers are now reportedly required to wear masks in common areas, meaning any time they are outside of their own personal office.

200,000 people died, and now they care because Trump got sick.

If you thought Republicans would learn anything from this:

Still throwing in the line about "protecting vulnerable populations" while arguing that it is impossible to take any precautions to stop the virus.

Cognitive dissonance should be considered a conservative dialect at this point.

2 down, 1 more to go before the nomination process is in danger of not happening anytime soon.

Watch, Biden’s going to get it.  October’s just going to be one long series of October surprises, day in and day out, because 2020.  The writers don’t know how to wrap up the series, so all that’s left is to jump the shark at an ever-escalating scale.

I need to see more of this in the mainstream media.  Anytime I glance at the news it's some bullshit.  The discussion needs to be about how the Trump administration tried to hide the positive results and let a known-infected individual(s) come in contact with other people.  Fucking ridiculous that is not the story here.

So it's pretty clear that all these folks not getting COVID earlier was just dumb luck. I wonder what it was about this specific instance that turned everything on its head.

They were so exuberant at the death of RBG and destroying her legacy they just couldn't contain the hugs and kisses.
