Chairslinger
The county I live in went from about 150 cases for the week starting in June to almost 1,000 for the week staring in July. My smallish town also seemed to lose it's damn mind when in came to the 4th. Not only did they hold the annual fireworks show, which is one of the few mass gatherings in town all year, but seemingly half the houses on my block had their own gatherings and displays. At some points, there were so many fireworks going off in so many directions it sounded like a goddamn artillary barrage. So I doubt the numbers are going to be improving in the coming weeks. Wouldn’t matter. He could have known before making the tweet and he’d still have made the same tweet. he could have even linked to an article spelling out the flaws, written by somebody from HFHS so was involved in the trial. It could explicitly contradict Swampy Don’s assertion and his followers would read his tweet and ignore the facts in the article.

Commissar SFLUFAN
239 Experts With One Big Claim: The Coronavirus Is Airborne (New York Times) Quote The coronavirus is finding new victims worldwide, in bars and restaurants, offices, markets and casinos, giving rise to frightening clusters of infection that increasingly confirm what many scientists have been saying for months: The virus lingers in the air indoors, infecting those nearby. If airborne transmission is a significant factor in the pandemic, especially in crowded spaces with poor ventilation, the consequences for containment will be significant. Masks may be needed indoors, even in socially-distant settings. Health care workers may need N95 masks that filter out even the smallest respiratory droplets as they care for coronavirus patients. Ventilation systems in schools, nursing homes, residences and businesses may need to minimize recirculating air and add powerful new filters. Ultraviolet lights may be needed to kill viral particles floating in tiny droplets indoors. The World Health Organization has long held that the coronavirus is spread primarily by large respiratory droplets that, once expelled by infected people in coughs and sneezes, fall quickly to the floor. From a practical standpoint, I don't see this necessarily changing already-established patterns in places that have already imposed significant restrictions. Commissar SFLUFAN
The Lancet: large-scale antibody study from Spain strengthens evidence that COVID-19 herd immunity may be "unachievable" Quote Spain's large-scale study on the coronavirus indicates just 5% of its population has developed antibodies, strengthening evidence that a so-called herd immunity to Covid-19 is "unachievable," the medical journal the Lancet reported on Monday. The findings show that 95% of Spain's population remains susceptible to the virus. Herd immunity is achieved when enough of a population has become infected with a virus or bacteria -- or vaccinated against it -- to stop its circulation. The European Center for Disease Control told CNN that Spain's research, on a nationwide representative sample of more than 61,000 participants, appears to be the largest study to date among a dozen serological studies on the coronavirus undertaken by European nations. It’s also going to be a major cause of cases spiking even more. It’s part of the reason flu season is Oct - May. so hurray, they get hired, their kid brings home Covid, they and/or their kid gets sick, they have to take off work, and they’re fired. The only thing that benefits is the virus.

This is a massive blow to universities. These people don't pay subsidized (for what little that is worth anymore) tuition because they're out of state. This is to force universities into a choice: further open for in class instruction and risk infection of the community OR lose big money in a time of budget cuts. All this because we REFUSE to have the feds print money to keep things in stasis until the virus is sufficiently eradicated.

No. You can't just pick the most recent number and call it a fucking day. Like if there was massive variance in the numbers, you could take the median and still it would be way higher than 250.
