elbobo Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 The residuals from this and Friends must be outrageous in terms of lifetime earnings Quote
SaysWho? Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 Two years from now. I guess Hulu will have it until then. Not that there's anything wrong with that. 1 Quote

Didn't they get $400 million each from the initial sindication rights sell off? Quote
RedSoxFan9 Posted September 17, 2019 Posted September 17, 2019 Whoever buys Sony isn’t going to like this Quote
Keyser_Soze Posted September 17, 2019 Posted September 17, 2019 Revenge for NBC getting Friends from them except Seinfeld is better. Quote
TheLeon Posted September 1, 2021 Posted September 1, 2021 Might be time for a full series rewatch. Quote

ort Posted September 1, 2021 Posted September 1, 2021 This is my current "background noise" show. I watch an episode or two every day. It really does hold up. I don't know why I like it as much as I do, but the writing on this show is so tight and perfect. It really is a master class in comedic structure. Quote

CayceG Posted September 1, 2021 Posted September 1, 2021 Well. I had completely forgotten about this... And cancelled my Netflix last week I'm going to have to see if Seinfeld on 24/7 is worth $15 a month. Quote
CitizenVectron Posted September 1, 2021 Posted September 1, 2021 Our background rotation tends to be: Brooklyn Nine-Nine - Netflix New Girl - Netflix Bob's Burgers - Disney+ Scrubs - Prime Video I will be glad to add Seinfeld to the mix! 1 Quote

Dre801 Posted September 1, 2021 Posted September 1, 2021 Never got into this show. My roommates in college were obsessed with it. They had "Seinfeld Night " Quote

ort Posted September 1, 2021 Posted September 1, 2021 I've never seen Curb Your Enthusiasm. I need to check that out for sure. Is that on HBO Max? Quote

The first two aren’t good. Three is decent - some classic episodes but it’s just starting to find its groove. Season 4 is when the show truly reaches god-tier. Something feels missing in the last two seasons after Larry David leaves (8 and 9), but it’s not the huge dip like some fans pretend it is. Quote
Keyser_Soze Posted September 1, 2021 Posted September 1, 2021 The first season isn't super funny but it has some charming stories. Also, it's the best place to see Jerry's original dad. Quote
Moa Posted September 1, 2021 Posted September 1, 2021 Netflix finally getting something good back. I'm still miffed over them losing IASIP. Quote

Curb is similar to Seinfeld for me. The first couple seasons really didn't do it for me that much but once it started rolling, it kept getting more outlandish and absurd, so funnier to me. The feud with the old lady culminating in the Judge Judy appearance in S9 was fucking amazing. Quote

SaysWho? Posted September 2, 2021 Posted September 2, 2021 Curb is basically if Seinfeld was only about George Costanza. Quote
Keyser_Soze Posted September 14, 2021 Posted September 14, 2021 That Oppenheimer thread got me to look up this clip. Classic scene @SaysWho? Quote
Jason Posted October 1, 2021 Author Posted October 1, 2021 lol apparently the version they're using is cropped to make it faux 16:9 Quote
ort Posted October 1, 2021 Posted October 1, 2021 It's 16:9 when it runs on TV and if things get cut off, I haven't noticed them. Meh, it's fine. No one is watching Seinfeld for the cinematography... Although are we sure that it's a crop? I saw an episode (the Hamptons) where George's girlfriend was topless and when she walked off frame it was clear she was wearing pasties or something (I rewound and freeze framed it, for, uh, science). It was something that happened because they were messing with aspect ratios. Google confirmed my suspision if I remember right. It didn't originally air that way in 4:3. Quote
