New USPS changes from the new Trump appointed Postmaster General seem designed to just destroy the post office

But, like most things that have fallen apart or have lost their way in the US, it is still 10x better than highway systems around most of the world, unfortunately.

It's a decent highway system, but terrible for human transportation, the environment, rail transportation networks, the built environment of cities themselves, and human health. Objectively bad!

The interstate system overall is fine, the problem is that we ran it through the middle of our cities instead of AROUND our cities.

Believe it or not, we did this to Japan too! They understand urban planning though, so their cities are still fine.

And they (probably) didn't deliberately use it as a means to destroy communities of ethnic and racial minorities, and occasionally the poor whites.

I do love Japanese zoning and urban planning though.

Can’t destroy what doesn’t exist due to a long history of oppression to keep Japan Japanese. Kinda funny now they are practically begging young foreigners to come because the Japanese aren’t having babies fast enough.

But who would want to move to Japan (except those obsessed with that weird version of Japanese culture online that nerds lust over) and have to live in their work culture? Especially women. Japan needs babies...but makes it impossible for women to have them and also have careers.

I figured that was the case but I don't know enough about Japanese land use planning with regard to limited access freeways to say definitively lol

That's a surprisingly quaint thing to worry about in a hypothetical second Trump term.

Trump gets two or three more SCOTUS seats assuring conservative control until at least 2045. Roberts is removed as the already razor thin line of a swing vote he is. Potentially having now personally appointed a majority of the bench plus Thomas and Alito Trump essentially gets whatever he wants from the court. Protesters, politicians, journalists, and even high profile social media critics of Trump begin dissapearing with charges of terroristic crimes if they bother to give a reason at all. Obamacare is dead, replaced with nothing. Any pretense is dropped and current immigration centers become legitimate extermination camps. In Trump's defense, the influx of almost a million DACA kids really overwhelmed the system.

With Obama, Clinton, and Biden in prison curtesy of some very serious charges from DOJ political descent becomes very unfashionable. Not only does Trump run for a third term after Trump brand SCOTUS declares the 22nd amendment unconstitutional(really, with Trump insisting on running again and enjoying 95% approval among Republicans it would be undemocratic not to allow him to run, don't you think?) he barely even has an opponent. Democrats have seen what happens to people who oppose him.

But yeah, 75 cent stamps.

This is exactly what will happen, and why I'm seriously considering ending it if he wins.

That is exactly backwards way to view that. It's the problem of Amazon's utilization of USPS in a nutshell. They so completely dominate the postal service that everything else gets backburnered. This was happening before this Trump driven fiasco. Amazon uses up far too many resources of the postal service and should pay much more as opposed to receive the subsidized rates meant for normies.

Some of you have super wild imaginations. Maybe a D1P novel is in order?!

Yeah, I end up having to give the board a break from time to time because people's minds are taking in crack and LSD at once with a side of salvia where everyone has thought up every worst case scenario that'll take place until the heat death of the universe, and it's exhausting.

I love this board and this community and no other place for politics comes close to the camaraderie. But I can't read all this with any frequency. :p
