Anecdotally speaking, as Inuk and I drove to and from FL over my Christmas holiday, there were significantly fewer displays of pro-Tump/GOP support (bumper stickers, billboards, etc.) in Georgia than there were in Florida, South Carolina, or North Carolina (Florida had the most BY FAR).

The only political billboard I saw in Georgia was one for Warnock.

pic of inuk?

I really should be keeping a list of statements that, when stated non-ironically, render the endorser immediately not worth listening to on any topic. The short list off the top of my head includes:

  • pussification of America
  • virtue signaling
  • SJWs
  • constitutional originalist
  • socially liberal / fiscally conservative
  • "real" America
  • sovereign citizen

President-elect Joe Biden said electing Democrats Jon Ossoff and Rev. Raphael Warnock in Tuesday's runoff elections would end the gridlock in Washington and allow a Democrat-controlled Senate to provide $2,000 stimulus checks to Americans.

Add "law-abiding gun owner" to the list.

Except the vast majority are law abiding gun owners.

There are millions of interactions every year where at least one person has a gun, and it never gets pulled out. The media never reports things that went well.

Same as cops. All cops are bad!!! But actually  there are Millions of interactions every day between police and citizens, and 99.9% are without issue. The media doesn't report them.

That doesn't mean we shouldn't screen better, or make stronger laws, but far too many get demonized for the actions of a few.

That said, there are some very problematic police forces, and that shit needs to be rooted out.

Police don't need defunding, they need proper training continuously, instead they get a short course and periodic assessment. At least 20 percent of their time on duty should be training. Threat assessment, target acquisition, kickboxing, BJJ, deescalation techniques, regular psych evaluation. The 20% training has been proven to be the best for continuous development of skills in long term, dangerous, high stress jobs.

Actual percentage of training after becoming a cop? A few hours a year. It's a complicated issue that isn't solved by the "acab" ridiculousness. The people are being failed by the police, and the Frontline police are being failed by politics and beaurocracy. Most of the cops who have killed on the job would never have done so with proper, continued training.

Got a little off topic there, but I find people try to tie complicated subjects up into neat little bows that don't fit reality.
