Eh...I don't think so. They definitely wouldn't have given the same level obstruction that they did with Scalia. scalia was a hardline conservative justice. Obama attempted to replace him with a slightly left leaning judge, and the GOP was worried about the power shift. In January the GOP will have 53 seats in the Senate. Assuming RGB dies or is forced to retire in the next two years, her seat is definitely going to either go to a conservative justice, or at the very least a centrist. But getting Ginburg’s seat is playing with house money, they can avoid any one of the conservatives getting a wild hair about some issue and siding with the liberals and still come out 5-4.
