There are now rumours it was a part of the demands made in the settlement.

Carlson's last program was last Friday.

A source familiar with the situation told Axios that the firing was not part of the settlement agreement.

A slew of material was uncovered during pre-trial discovery that implicated Carlson. More information could be out there that could be legally damaging for Fox as it stares down more defamation cases.

A former Fox News producer Abby Grossberg, who is suing the network for allegedly trying to manipulate her testimony during pre-trial discovery for the Dominion case, said in a legal filing just before the trial that there were Fox News tapes showing Rudy Giuliani and other Trump allies admitting they had no evidence to support their claims about Dominion election fraud.

O'Reilly was irreplaceable too.

O’rielly is older than dirt and still filling over priced live shows consistently. He’s 75, nobody cares what he has to say. Obviously he doesn’t have the reach he had, but thats as much age as anything. If he had been tuckers age, he’d have been fine.

I think his point is that both are partisan havks and the media is better without them. But yeah, I agree as influence goes, Lemon is a lemon.

I'm not even talking about influence. Tucker Carlson has been spewing white nationalism, xenophobia, and straight Russian propaganda for years. To act like Don Lemon does anything similar is being disingenuous.

I was making my own statement.

But yeah, I doubt Lemon does anything near the equivalent of what Carlson does.

lol it's so deliciously petty to wait to tell him until he'd already started preparing for tonight's show

How many chuds that don’t follow social media notifications just tuned in to Fox News absolutely stunned that Tucker Carlson no longer works there?

They are hyperventilating into their CPAP machines as we speak

Would Trump accept a pretend chud like Carlson after the text messages came out from the Dominion lawsuit?

I think it's more likely that Tucker would run AGAINST Trump - and the GOP base would accept Carlson over any of the other contenders not named Trump.

You know how Trump would repeatedly punch himself in the balls with stupid statements and such, but his followers still adored him?  Imagine a Trump-like candidate who didn't repeatedly punch himself in the balls...He'd win the GOP nomination and have a better chance against Biden.

That's not actually his problem. I don't think Tucker actually believes in any of that sort of culture war bullshit. Tucker's one constant has been thinly veiled white nationalism. Anything that doesn't further that agenda is probably just the BS he peddles to keep his audience engaged.

I don't think he's even a real true believer in white nationalism, it just happens to be profitable. From 2000 - 2008 he worked at CNN, PBS, and MSNBC so it's not like he's above sleeping with the enemy. He doesn't fucking care. Like yeah sure, dude fucking loves white people, but a race war would be bad for business while a constant moral panic about a perpetually imminent one IS business.
