This is a great video essay about that painting:

One of the most unsettling Goya paintings for me is one I first saw on the Penguin edition of Melmoth The Wanderer. I keep forgetting the title of it, so here's a link to the book using it as the cover:

Do it! Label all milk and eggs with a big fetal tissue stamp. Let these people continue to deny themselves things with self imposed rules out of a pure stupidity. Like how they talked themselves into not being allowed any milk alternatives even if it’s just for taste.

I'm still distraught over seeing that in a Cracked article like 15 years ago.

I learned about from a show called Destination Truth. When they did a Philippines episode the host of the show said “I’ve been dreading and putting off doing an episode here because I knew I’d be offered and have to eat balut”

I might try insects at some point, there's no way in fucking hell I'm getting anywhere near balut.

I tried a witchetty grub while in Australia. Tastes like liquid egg. Could've used some salt. I also sucked on the abdomen of some green tree ants which are actually pretty sweet tasting.
