After careful consultation with our member companies regarding the health and safety of everyone in our industry – our fans, our employees, our exhibitors and our longtime E3 partners – we have made the difficult decision to cancel E3 2020, scheduled for June 9-11 in Los Angeles.

Following increased and overwhelming concerns about the COVID-19 virus, we felt this was the best way to proceed during such an unprecedented global situation. We are very disappointed that we are unable to hold this event for our fans and supporters. But we know it’s the right decision based on the information we have today.

Our team will be reaching out directly to exhibitors and attendees with information about providing full refunds.

We are also exploring options with our members to coordinate an online experience to showcase industry announcements and news in June 2020. Updates will be shared on E3expo.com.

We thank everyone who shared their views on reimagining E3 this year. We look forward to bringing you E3 2021 as a reimagined event that brings fans, media and the industry together in a showcase that celebrates the global video game industry.

3 2020 CANCELLED DUE TO GROWING CONCERNS OVER COVID-19 VIRUS

It's official.

However, I am sure there will be online streaming of "press conferences" at around the same time by many of the players.

This is pathetic. Such an over exaggeration over this stupid flu.

I'd have to agree. The CDC reported over 140,000 flu cases this year and over 8,200 deaths.....this year...in the U.S. Keep in mind that report was from January so it's likely much higher now. And the flu is actually on the rise this year over last year. But by all means let's keep locking everything down over the real problem.

For the elderly (people over 80) COVID-19 has a mortality rate of 21.9%.  That is 1 in 5.  The only way to keep them safe is for the general population to keep this virus in check as much as possible.  To continue as normal would be a death sentence for large numbers of our elderly population.

Bloomberg must be very happy with this.

It’s much higher now. That CDC report was from early January. But Tom Hanks now has it and they suspended NBA Basketball. So I probably need to stop making light of it
