For instance, I figure about half of the people in Lowe's wear masks at any given time. We went into a mom n pop fireplace store a few weeks ago and non of the businesses employees were wearing masks, which made it a bit uncomfortable. It is terrible. I am concerned all of the measures in NJ will be meaningless once the virus returns because too many states didn't take it seriously. Still also trying to get a pool. CitizenVectron
Pence told governors to downplay community spread of COVID-19, to blame rise of numbers on more testing, instead. Quote Vice President Mike Pence encouraged governors to downplay new community spread of the coronavirus and attribute spikes to increases in testing, The New York Times reported Monday. Pence urged the state leaders to take on the Trump administration's explanation for rises in cases - that more testing has led to more positive cases - during a phone call with governors on Monday, according to audio obtained by the Times. The newspaper notes, however, that data show his explanation is misleading. "I would just encourage you all, as we talk about these things, to make sure and continue to explain to your citizens the magnitude of increase in testing," Pence said in the call. "And that in most of the cases where we are seeing some marginal rise in number, that's more a result of the extraordinary work you're doing."

There is nothing in the constitution that prohibits them from having such requirements. these people need to get over themselves. They act like wearing masks all day or for extended periods of time is some new thing humans invented in 2020. Considering how long people with compromised immune systems and medical personnel wear masks in a a day; if there was a health risk we’d have known DECADES ago. Surgeons aren’t collapsing into an open patient during a lengthy surgery due to lack of air or carbon dioxide poisoning.

Outside of the labor dispute there was a report that a number of players and team staff got a positive test for COVID-19. While the money thing was something they probably could have worked through, the positive cases basically stuck a fork in it. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/mlb/2020/06/15/coronavirus-mlb-players-coaches-test-positive-covid-19/3196046001/

Are you saying that players won't get paid if there are no games to play? Kinda sucks, but it makes sense to me. Ticket sales are what really fund player salaries. If you can't sell any tickets, you don't have the revenue to play the players. Plus the players aren't even working, so it's not absurd to not pay them. Also worth mentioning, is that these players are in the same class of people many of you advocate should have their heads chopped off by the proletariat. So IDK what you are crying about. Joe
Mike Trout makes a lot of money, but at least he does with through his actual performance. Chris-
Only a third of MLB’s revenue is tied up in gate receipts, the vast majority of their money comes from media rights and merchandising (as is the case with most leagues). And even that is a mitigated issue because of profit sharing. Basically all of the pro-owner arguments are full of shit.

There is 0 risk for the owners. If they don't try to compensate based off that risk, there will not be a season. Simple as that.
