Quote Authorities did not publicly release the name of the shooter. But multiple law enforcement sources told ABC News the deceased suspect is Anthony Polito, 67. Polito had applied for a professor position at UNLV but was not hired, those sources told ABC. He had previously worked as a professor in North Carolina and Georgia. Quote Sources indicate the victims who were killed were faculty or staff members. It's still not clear if they were intentionally targeted but the fact that the victims were not students suggests to detectives it may not have been entirely random.
