Joe Biden beats Donald Trump, officially making Trump a one-term twice impeached, twice popular-vote losing president

So here's a question:

In the last few days it seems like there has been a general sense of optimism with Biden winning (at least from what I have seen). This has come from general polls as well as specific state polls showing that the Democrats may be able to retake the Senate (maybe even with Montana). This of course, is good. So, my question is, if Biden gets ahead of the progressive vote and says he will enact M4A and do some other things (legalize marijuana, etc), is there any way that some of the extreme Sanders supporters will get on board? In 2016 it was an issue and some stayed home (though most voter for her).

Basically, what would it take to get far-left progressives excited about Biden and out volunteering for him, etc?

Show a picture of Trump and ask if they REALLY want 4 more years of him?

He'd never even say that he would do this. Let alone actually do it.

But I could see some Sanders supporters getting on board as that's his key issue.

Those people will never be pleased.

Check out the Twitters for guys like Yglesias, Dylan Matthews, and Noah Smith...They are all wildly progressive, advocating for things like M4A, living wages, and so on; they still get trashed as ‘neoliberal shills’ because they think those things can be achieved in a market-based economy.

She accused him of calling her a liar on national TV... it was caught in a hot mic moment.  I dont think they've been cool since. Bernie doesn't seem to be a very likable dude by his colleagues.  On another topic, I know what Bernie's positions are and what he's supported and opposed over his long career. But what's his signature legislative accomplishment in the Senate since he's been there? What has he actually got DONE? I'm legit asking and not looking to start a fight or make a point:)

Remember the VA bill that Trump likes to brag about signing, but it was really Obama that signed it?

Sanders-mccain.

That he doesn't make this a bigger deal is mind boggling. He's won the base. He's gotta win normies, and this is how he could do it without compromising any of his values

At one of the debates, she seemed extremely hurt by the way Sanders responded to her claims about a conversation they had regarding women and the presidency.

While she may herself view it as him treating her poorly...I think an objective observer would see the opposite. She revealed the contents of a private conversation, and seemingly gave an inaccurate characterization of his comments about the difficulty of a woman facing Trump as “a woman can’t be President”.

To the best of my recollection, the only thing Sanders did was answer the question from the moderator about whether he said it or not which he denied.

I was speaking from Warren’s perspective. I’m not sure if it was an inaccurate perspective though. How do you know that?

This is exactly it.

Who are these irresponsible, clown ass liberals that would rather pout at home than swallow their pride and go vote to make sure trump isn’t re-elected? Your favorite candidate didn’t make it? Boo fucking hoo, you baby. Keep reaching for your socialist utopia each election cycle, but in the meantime let’s get trump out of office.

Speaking honestly for myself: there absolutely nothing Biden could do that would get me to do that.

Beyond my actions in the voting booth, he gets nothing at all from me.

I didn’t say she needs to endorse Bernie. And I understand people make decisions for what’s best for their career. I’m saying if she endorses a conservative ghoul over a progressive then it’s a massive disappointment.

Calling Biden a conservative is wrong on its face.

Because Sanders got explicit about what he said and nobody in the Warren team corrected it. It seems quite like the Sanders was being truthful about what he said. That doesn’t mean Warren didn’t take the comments the way she claims, but that would still be a mischaracterization of what he claims he said and they didn’t refute.

The world is passing him by. It's weird how many Republican voters are ahead of guys like him on something like marijuana legalization. Or being late on abortion rights. Probably the most exciting thing he did was "gaffeing" on gay marriage by revealing his true feelings, which accelerated Obama's public position changing.

Him winning and that translating to state wins and a Democrat to replace RBG are what are "exciting." State wins in particular if he wins decently because that means a potential slew of positive stories of multiple states implementing good laws.

But that applies to any Democrat winning.

It's not even any of those issues that really impact my sentiment in the least.  They are certainly "nice to have" but in no way, shape, or form are they even remotely decisive for me.

Biden embodies the political, social, economic, and moral malaise that will only spawn even worse monsters than the Imbecile if left unchecked.

Down ballot appeal is what will help the Dems win big, but what a difficult thing to measure before the election. My gut tells me Biden makes for a larger pull almost everywhere except the West, and it’s not like Cali or Washington need help beating the GOP.

That's evidence, but I still don't think we know. Warren may have been quiet about it out of political calculus. There is supposed to be a lot of animosity between them over this, and that's evidence that Sanders may not have told the whole story.

Edit: If I was betting on it, I would go more with Sanders versions of events myself, but I don't really know. My doubt comes from how pissed she seems to be over it all.

I would argue up-ballot appeal is just as or maybe more important.

In Texas, I feel much more comfortable with Biden at the top of the ticket than Sanders. Most Texas Democrats seem to feel the same way. It seems a lot more risky in this political environment to have Sanders at the top.

Counter: Cuellar almost lost and Sanders did extremely well. Texas Democrats are being taken over by the leftist wing of the party because we have so many young voters here. This isn't Florida.

Plenty of Republican Congressional seats in California. Nunes, McCarthy, et al.

California has 50+ seats in the House and literally 6 are Republicans :p

Unless Biden is going to somehow turn Texas blue this year, I'm not sure what he brings to Texas that matters.

I never said she was right... I just stated what the issue between them was. Only THE TWO OF THEM know what really went down.

I'm pretty sure Steyer was close enough to them to hear what they were saying. :p

Look at what O’Rourke’s candidacy did for races all over Texas, even when he lost.

Oh yeah... I forgot he was there for the exchange. We ALL heard what she said was said on stage, I was referencing the conversation that they were in dispute about. Anyway I suspect she either ends up endorsing Bernie or or no one. She does too much damage to her own brand if she endorses Biden and I like her too much to see her do that to herself.
