Based on that boss fight specifically, it looks pretty close to a Souls game. I assume full-on Action RPG.

 

I like the environments, designs and folklore aspect.

Yeah that boss fight definitely gave me Souls vibes. But the levels looked REALLY linear which isn't a bad thing at all just something I would expect from a straight up action game.

Kinda made me think of Onimusha 2 right off the bat but might just be the aesthetics.

 

...which is very linear like that yup.

I'll be honest, I was waiting for the end of that trailer to see that smarmy Sony logo plastered all over it, but this truly looks like it will actually see the Series X and that makes me super happy.

 

But alas, it's early in development... so there's still time... Sony....

The game looked pretty good. Also reminded me that I imported the 3rd movie from Hong Kong to get it in 3D. Never seen any of the movies and know nothing of the lore, but cheap and 3D. I just wanted to see what the 3D was like and skipped to a random scene. It was some dudes going into Labor . . . . the 3D was pretty good though.Still haven’t watched it

Wonder if that extends to the gameplay as well. Either way I hope the game is good, but I always get the feeling it is gonna be a 6/10 Souls Game. Good lore, but the gameplay is totally subpar. As someone who does not experience Souls fatigue, I wish people would accurately rip-off the souls games. Your "take" on Souls combat will never be as good.

Looking at this footage again... Something seems off. The timing on a lot of the dodges and hits seems desynced at points. I can't quite put my finger on it, but actually looking at it outside of the spectacle of a reveal show just made it look a lot less impressive to me. Hopefully it's just my imagination.

I'm no graphics expert so I have no idea if this is fair to say but this entire video looks kind of like the video equivalent of bullshots.

 

If this is jow it releases, the game looks great and I'd buy it Day 1 but something about this footage makes my bullshit detector go off.

Have you watched any of the UR5 demos? That’s pretty much what they look like
