I don't think it makes a difference but...I always charge my DS4 with my phone wall charger adapter. Try that maybe just because?

I've tried every outlet I can think of as well. So from the PS4 itself, and I have a few outlets that have USB ports tried all of those, tried leaving it over night, nada.

Is your controller one of the early ones, or does it have the light bar on the touchpad?

I want to say it's the controller I got with the PS4pro which would make it 3 and a half years old now.

If it’s an older controller and you’re up for it, you could always buy a battery from adafruit and swap out the stock one. It’d be cheaper than a new controller and the batteries last longer than the ones that shipped with early PS4 controllers. Only  downside is that if you fuck it up, you’d be out the cost of a battery and the new controller :p

You also need a tiny screwdriver to open the controller and I don't know if I have one that small. I found a third party controller for $40 that will get here Thursday, I just hope it isn't complete shit. If it's decent with any luck I'll have a PS5 by next year so not planning on using it for years to come.

Good luck!

If the third party controller sucks I might have an extra, old one with that modded battery laying around I can send you.

I'll keep that in mind thanks. Shitty part is the controller itself is fine, the knobs aren't all fucked up like my launch controller got. Just can't get it to take a charge anymore. I'll let you know how it goes. I was going to try and hold off on playing this until I got a PS5, but with all the "one of the best games of all time" reviews I caved. Plus I liked the original and ND's games in general so I'm sure I'm going to like this.

You sick fuck!

Actually those aren't that bad.

If you said: I've seen A Serbian Film, Irreversible, Philosophy of a Knife, and more multiple times. Then I'd have to question your sanity/

(You probably already have though)

Add Chaos to that list... also the french film Martyrs. Man that movie was brutal.

My daughter watched that when she was about 12, it instantly became her favorite film. She probably watches it about 1/2 dozen times a year if not more.

I have seen those films, and except for Irreversible, no, I have not seen them more than once. A Serbian Film isn't worth it the first time. :p

I completely agree with you about Blood Meridian, and I doubt Terrence Malick would ever do it (though he would be perfect for it), but he did do Days of Heaven (his first film) which was about killers on the run so you never know. :p

Did you mean Badlands which was his actual first film?

Are talking about the same movie??? That movie was rough for ME... I can only imagine what it would be like for a 12 year old :o

Martyr's might be worse than A Serbian Film in that department, agreed, brutal.

Actuallys, Days Of Heaven is technically about killers on the run as well. Richard Gere kills his boss and they flee to where the film takes place. But I assume he meant Badlands as well yup. As a sidenote, both great and stupidly gorgeous looking movies.

Martyrs is one of those films I remember to this day for just how much I hated it. I saw it when it came out and then again a few years later and my opinion somehow dropped even more the second time.

Yeah but he said "Malick's first film" so I assumed he was talking about Badlands. As far as Martyrs, I hated that movie too. It was one of very few movies that actually offended me and I don't get offended easily especially by movies. The cut I saw even had the director basically apologizing before the film for what you were about to see. Chaos is another one that got under my skin as well. Not in a good way.

I was so eager to get that one in, I forgot about that 'first film' part! But I will say I'm a little proud that we can even movie nerd out to this degree, it's fun.

Regarding Martyrs, I agree 100% with that. It's been insanely rare that I've been offended by a movie but this one actively made me angry even at a time where I was all about 'fuck yeah evil, disgusting movies'. Maybe one could say look, it does its job, but I just felt like the director's sadistic misogyny basically seeped through the screen and slimed all over me. I don't think it shouldn't exist or be better or anything like that, just yeah, I think it's absolute garbage.

I seem to have that reaction to a lot of that specifically French brand of hyper-depravity.

The word 'decent' is wrong and negative. It's a pretty fantastic game front to back.

I forced myself through two and a half Uncharted games trying to get what the appeal is and there is no way I'm playing 4. I think the whole spectacle-first popcorn blockbuster thing is incredibly boring and strikes me as smug.

What I've read here convinced me to continue ignoring The Last Of Us. Come to think of it, I haven't liked a single Naughty Dog game I've played, damn.

TLoU is a fantastic game and if you call yourself a gamer {no disrespect intended} then give it a chance. That said, I do understand your dislike for the Uncharted games as they are so greatly overhyped it's not even funny. They added nothing new and played out as a Male Tomb Raider. I played them all, beat them all and I can say I liked the PSVita one the most over all the ps4 ones. It added some cool elements like using the back touch pad to do charcoal rubbings of hieroglyphs. Play the last of us and see and feel what the hype was and is all about. Again just an opinion!

In my defense, that post was from January last year and I recently posted some very good impressions on TLoU here, not that I expect you to read every damn thread in search of my opinions! I had dropped the game several times and decided to, this time, power through the boring into segment since. Once the combat opened up and I decided to watch some gameplay videos, the combat clicked and I've been thoroughly enjoying my time with it. I'm currently on the, I believe, last chapter and I've definitely done a 180 on my earlier impressions after sticking with it. That being said, I still think the game has some real pacing issues gameplay-wise in that it takes way too long to introduce fairly basic elements of combat encounters, so I actually know why I was turned off and thought of it as just another cutscene-fest exclusively at first.

Edit: Also, I actually like the combat so much by now, I'm planning another playthrough on Grounded already to see how far I can get with that.

I almost never replay games on a harder difficulty (or if I do it's one notch up, not the hardest available), but I had a blast replaying TLOU on Grounded. There were maybe 2-3 sections that had me about to punch a hole through the wall, but other than that it was a fun challenge.

It's all good and usually i'm not one to push a game down someones throat just because I liked it and they didn't. I know that so many just LOVE the Uncharted games and to them they are the standard to which they judge action adventure games. Uncharted 4 was for the most part a lot of cut scene candy and very little game play that I enjoyed. I like the tomb raider games too, though there getting rather stale.

Glad TLoU is clicking with you now, I'm looking forward to playing Part 2 but it'll be much later down the road I'm afraid. Luck I haven't had anything other than IGN's review spoiled for me, never clicked the internet blow up on the plot line and what not. What ever, i'll go in blind and hang on for a bumpy ride i'm sure .. .

Just finished TLoU last night actually. Now getting into the multiplayer and I'm really into it despite not being a multiplayer guy. The combat is so satisfying that it's actually really cool. The gibbing is so satisfying.
