Sony PlayStation 5 OT - Play Has No Limits, update: financial report indicates no major first-party/exclusive PS5 releases prior to end of March 2025, PS5 in "latter half" of console cycle

The issue seems to be related to having an external hdd plugged in AND going into rest mode. The issue is the system reboots, or upon coming out of rest mode, goes to an error screen saying it needs to rebuild your external drive’s database - after it finishes, some people have gotten a bricked system; no external hdd, you probably have nothing to worry about (how could it need to rebuild the external drive’s database if there’s no external drive?). This also is likely some software glitch, not hardware.
Do not use an external hdd until this is 100% confirmed to be fixed.

I assumed just because your TV can be put into VRR mode doesn't mean the console supports it.  My Xbox Series X is run through a switch and Capture Card, so it won't allow me to turn on VRR even though my TV supports it and has it turned on.  Just wasn't sure, but seems it's not on yet.  PS5 itself will probably get a toggle for it when its updated.

Not likely, HDMI device link just allows one device to turn on others thru HDMI

So in my case turning on my PS4 cause my receiver to turn on and my tv to power up

Thanks for the correction, I didn't see this earlier. I think the person was saying they couldn't enable this before but could now. We do know sony is working on VRR for a future update but this wasn't it.

I had successfully placed my order at BJs at like 2:30am Monday. By 4:30pm it was marked as shipped and a tracking number generated. Since then, there has been zero progress. I called BJs and they said the MA distribution center where this is coming from is really behind with UPS and will be going out at some point this week (this was Wednesday). So far still no moment. I didn’t try, but my account showed both “Primary PS4” and “Primary PS5” when I set games to download from the app, and gad both downloading different games. But I deactivated my PS4 from my account when I gave it away, so not sure about playing the same games.

Trying to think about account management makes my head spin with consoles. I put the ps4 pro in my son's room. I can be logged on to my account there and the PS5 at the same time with no problem. He can play any game on my account but we can't play the same game at the same time. When I loaded up Apex on my ps4 and then ps5, a message came up on the PS4 saying something about logging in somewhere else and it was going to close the game.  My son's account is just some sub account of mine. I guess since Apex is free to play, he could download it himself and play on his account and we are able to play together no problem.
