Everyone living in the region stretching from northern Oklahoma and central Nebraska through Iowa, Missouri and western Illinois should brace for a “prolonged period of dangerously hot temperatures and high humidity,” the warnings say. People in central and south central Kansas should expect to endure highs of about 102 degrees; the temperature in Des Moines was expected to hover around 100.

A few cities:

I live in Philadelphia and I can tell you it's pretty bad. We've had a heat wave for like 5 weeks now. This weekend is gonna be brutal.

If you have any elderly neighbors, please be sure to check on them. Always heat related deaths to elderly folks during these events :(

I keep having arguments daily with my father because he keeps shutting the air conditioner off because he “gets too cold”. Or when he’s not cold, leaves it on “economy” mode.

Motherfucker, I didn’t take care of you for two years when you had cancer just so you could die of heat stroke because you want to save some money on your electric bill that you don’t pay for!

Why would anyone get in the human soup of a public pool when they have one at home?

Lol, right?

Well for one, I can do real laps at the local pool; plus at home I don't have slides, a lazy river, or the diving board.

Two its a community gathering place, good opportunity to fellowship with my neighbors.

Three the kids get to randomly see theirs friends.

Four I can be under the sun the whole time, my backyard is almost completely shaded.
