It’s Bloody Monday at the RNC

Donald Trump’s newly-installed leadership team at the RNC has begun to push out dozens of officials. All told, more than 60 RNC staffers are expected to be let go.

In a letter to some political and data staff, Sean Cairncross, the RNC’s new chief operating officer, said that the new committee leadership was “in the process of evaluating the organization and staff to ensure the building is aligned” with its vision. “During this process, certain staff are being asked to resign and reapply for a position on the team.”

Under the new structure, the Trump campaign is looking to merge its operations with the RNC. Key departments, such as communications, data and fundraising, will effectively be one and the same.

This has the potential to backfire HILARIOUSLY for the Republican Party.

Oh the amount of grift that is about to occur will be phenomenal! I can't wait until the stories in Sept, Oct, and Nov (and beyond) about how money went missing, was misspent on family business instead of local campaigns, etc.

So merging in fundraising, does this mean Trump's campaign hasn't been raising a ton of money and they really need the RNC to shore it up?

One way or another putting all your eggs in the basket of a crooked old shit who's not won the popular vote even once is certainly a strategy.

More like he's raising lots of money and is using it for his legal defense.

As one of the first official changes:

With Trump allies taking over the RNC and cleaning house, one of the casualties was a minority outreach program that seemed to be working for Republicans.

I thought Trump was doing so well with “the blacks”. I guess they’re relying on his mugshot and sneakers to win him through.

Wasn’t the GOP base mostly mail-in until Trump railed against it?

You would think with probably an older user base that watches nothing but Fox News. I think the article above even mentioned that mail-in benefitted the republicans greater than it does for democrats. Covid changed that, Trump railed against it and is pretty much doing it again with Covid now the common flu.

To me this just means they're gonna run back what they were trying to do in 2020, meaning declare victory at a point where they have the lead in most swing states because the in person votes are being put into the count faster than the mail-in votes, and then start pumping out lawsuits trying to get in-home ballots thrown out.

Oh, they're not even waiting until after the election to start the lawsuits:

The move claiming that Michigan's voter rolls are inflated comes as Trump allies have moved into leadership positions at the RNC ahead.

The Republican National Committee sued Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson, a Democrat, on Wednesday in an attempt to force election officials to trim down the state’s voter rolls.

The lawsuit, which was filed in federal court, argues that Michigan is violating the National Voter Registration Act’s requirement to maintain clean and accurate vote registration rolls.

The move comes just days after Trump allies effectively took over the RNC's leadership ahead of the 2024 election.

"Let’s call this what it is: a PR campaign masquerading as a meritless lawsuit filled with baseless accusations that seek to diminish people’s faith in the security of our elections. Shame on anyone who abuses the legal process to sow seeds of doubt in our democracy," Benson added.

But... that is the play. That's their entire game right there.
