I actually never received this one. Surprised because my older sister is the type to get this type of text and send it out to everyone.

I knew it was probably bullshit based on the first person who sent it to me unfortunately. I warned a couple of my friends last night that this was out there and as soon as I hung up the phone with a buddy of mine, he got the text as well. He's in Florida. I knew then it was more than likely a hoax.

Cuomo conference actually sounding logical and confident right now, nice to hear at least a bit of this in all this nonsensical chaos right now.

I chuckled how they were throwing shade at the federal government for being such a shitshow.

My brother said he's anticipating a 40% infection rate at a minimum. Is this accurate?

What we've learned from this situation is that the (western) world's people haven't had to make sacrifices for the greater good for too long, and don't understand the importance. IMO, bring back the old punishments from WWI and WWII for people who hoarded goods, etc, only in this case for breaking gathering limits, etc.

Well, that dude who bought out all the hand sanitizer I think got it repo'd by the government and the State AG is investigating him. So that's something, I guess.

Historically, its been pretty accurate.

lmao, no

17 percent is hospitalizations per confirmed case. That's NOT the percentage anyone is paying attention to.

If you don't know where a twitter thread is being sourced from/run by, you should not pay attention to it.

That's a fair statement, but I will say that this account has been correct about a large quantity of school shooting and other big events over the last year. That particular tweet is a terrible analysis though!

Just got back from the Grocery Store. There was a long line and they delayed the opening of the store to 8am (usually it opens at 6am). Initially they were letting 5 in at a time but soon they let more than that in and it just felt like grocery shopping on a busy day. They were mostly fully stocked. If you wanted ramen you are sad. The Japanese ladies making sushi, they had two of them so you're happy if you want sushi!

It seems reasonable over the next 12 months assuming we can't slow/halt the spread. I think colds and the flu infect 40-70% per year, and this is just as (if not more) contagious. Usually you won't get higher than that because of her immunity, but if it's very contagious then it can hit everyone before the immunity spreads. Or you could have a situation like the common cold where it continues to mutate and you can get a new version every season. That is the scariest outcome of this, where old people now have to be paranoid forever.

But with all the social distancing going on, that makes no sense.

I heard he donated it all.

I know this may be an overreaction, and make me a giant hypocrite, but a small part of me wishes I owned a firearm in case all shit breaks loose.

Times like this are when you SHOULD probably have a gun. I've always been an advocate for RESPONSIBLE gun ownership not a complete ban.

There are some lousy takes in there.

Some great takes though.

A vast majority of TSA policies don't actually keep you safe.  But it gives you the allusion of being safe.

The fact that we have to wait on the FDA to approve testing methods that have been successful overseas is rediculous.

I think the point about nurse licensing in MA was a bit weak, but it's absolutely true our nation (or more ot the point, the states) are too trigger happy about occupational licensing.

Honestly, I can't remember the exact number despite having just listened to it. I was working on the side and more listening for business closures and things of that nature, sorry man.
