Thanks Joe and Howard for summarizing what I hate about this capitalists vs. socialists absolutism. Are you a driver or a walker? Well, I drive when I need to travel 50 miles in less than a day, and I walk when I need to enter buildings without destroying them.

He's saying asking someone to commit to being a capitalist or socialist is silly because you can have socialist programs such as Medicare, universal health care, UBI etc. and still support capitalism and people owning private businesses and creating their own product. He's comparing it to driving/walking to highlight the absurdity of the absolutism.

Some people are straight-up socialist, but most DSA-types I know aren't coming out against private ownership and competition.

This primary is going to be interesting and really messy. It's gonna be war.

We gonna have a brokered convention and it's going to give us 4 more years of trump cause some people are far too emotionally attached to a single candidate and/or won't accept anything less than their preferred (*perfect*) candidate.

Possibly, yeah. :(

But I don't think that's presumptively a given or even the most probable outcome per se.
