Joe Biden beats Donald Trump, officially making Trump a one-term twice impeached, twice popular-vote losing president

I don't want him to win, but that's a pretty dumb article. White men are still allowed to run for President, even after losing previous election bids.

But the main idea of the article that such a chance for promotion is exclusively the realm of white men. A woman or racial minority wouldn’t get the benefit of the doubt after losing an election.

Is that really the case, or is it because we haven't had enough people of color yet to measure? Even 20 years ago, Congress and the people running in it were almost all white, so it's a lot easier for someone to lose a lower race and go for a higher one who's white when they're almost all white.

Recently, I heard rumbling about Stacey Abrams after 2018 in regards to a possible 2020 run, which she doesn't want to do right now (and honestly, I think Beto should work on winning a statewide Texas race and really shaking things up there politically).

I mean, we generally don’t like losers. But in the most recent of history HRC won the popular vote by millions and people told her to go away afterward, Beto lost and he’s being celebrated in major magazines for his courageous decision to run. I doubt Abrams gets a major magazine cover story to announce her run.

I think there has definitely been a lot of sexism against HRC. And people hinging 2020 over whether she exists are weird.

That said, after two failed attempts at the presidency, I'm not surprised nobody wants her running again. I voted for her enthusiastically and I'd rather she stay out of it completely.

You guys didn't know? Yang's website is just him saying LITERALLY EVERYTHING he wants to do.

Some of it is dumb, but some of it is actually pretty good stuff. I don't hate the idea of a VAT, and I'm glad he has the balls to state he's for it.

But overall, Yang is dumb and he should go away.

A VAT and recognition that zoning regulations are hurting people are pretty impressive things to throw up on a website.

That’s actually a rather impressively sound and detailed set of policies.

I think the idea of ‘human-centered capitalism’ would sell better than ‘[insert adjective] socialism’ to the general electorate too.

Slight problem though—this guy has absolutely no freaking chance of being the nominee.

Edit: Holy shit--

Every time I see a guy like Beto wearing cowboy boots and hats, I have another reason not to vote for him. :duckhuntdog:I’ve met too many of his brand of fake cowboy.

I'd say most people who wear cowboy boots and hats are probably fake cowboys these days. Either way the American cowboy is nothing more than rebranded Mexican vaquero culture and look.

I don't understand the hate some people have for cowboy boots. If they're sized properly they're comfy as fuck, they make you look taller and they look cool (I guess the last one is debatable).

edit: I never did get the point of cowboy hats though. In my experience almost no one in agriculture actually wears cowboy hats while working. Cattleman do wear cowboy hats to events but in the field they'll just wear a baseball cap. Grain farmers don't wear cowboy hats under any circumstance. That's from Canada though I'm not sure how it is in the USA.
