You can. The fast travel that is unlocked allows you to travel from your tent to a select number of locations. I'm not sure if they're the same as the stagecoach locations or not.

I don't think so. You can fast travel from your wagon to the oil refinery place for example. I don't think there's a stage coach nor train station there.

This. You can upgrade the tents to feature fast travel in the shape of a map on your wagon. This allows you to fast travel FROM camp to those locations but not vice versa.

I would much rather have th ability to fast travel back to my camp and then use the coaches/train to go everywhere else. Fucking annoying always having to ride back to camp.

I took forever to get to ch4 but things move along quick quickly towards the end of 4.  Not sure how the rest of it plays out but 5 went by in like 2 hours as it never really gives you a chance to chill.

Wonder if the epilogues will be the same way but for now about to get to ch6

Well I have no idea how long 6 and the two epilogues take though lol

Im not 100% sure how far through 6 I am, but I can tell you there is a lot to do. I looked at my mission log before I quit last night and I had done like 6-7 missions (plus  few side missions) and I feel like there is still a lot to do.

I agree.

Then there's the aspect of not being able to fast travel if you have any cargo on your horse such as a Legendary Pelt or anything of value. I assume the theory was that there's an added sense of danger with ambushes when riding back the absurd distances coming from a Legendary Animal kill but seeing how that hunting task itself tends to be a major, major pain in the ass, I find it silly. Seeing how the ambushes spawn out of thin air and randomly with the ability to create up to several attacks per travel route, it's overkill.

You can check how many missions there are online via social club.  There's about twice asany missions in 6 than there were in 5

This maybe not be a popular opinion, but if your game has an auto-pilot feature then I think your game is doing something wrong. People shouldn't want to actively not play your game.

It may not be popular, but it's entirely obvious and logical and crosses my mind every single time I've had to active auto-pilot. The absurdity of that is mind-blowing to me. "Yeah...this really common and enormous part of our game is really tedious and boring so what do we do here? I got it, let's give them an option to just completely disengage with our VIDEO GAME and just sit there for 10 minutes, that'll solve the issue of tedium and boredom". WHAT?

OMG you guys are totally right.  I've subconsciously thought this every time.

You can lose the legendary pelt (and not something you need to bring to camp) but otherwise any other pelt yeah if you're trying to upgrade stuff. I've upgraded a bunch of things already but not sure if I'll try anymore. I have less issue with traveling...more so locating the animals that you need.

To clarify, you can lose it and you will get a message that the trapper can now craft with the skin - you just cant sell it to him but its only like 20 or so anyway

considering Im at chapter 6 and have like $4500 in cash burning a hole in my chaps.... id rather just lose the pelt!

It happened to me with my first Legendary hunt, I was killed on the way back. I didn't get the message pop-up but should check anyway if it's available whenever I play next.

The traveling doesn't bother me nearly as much as the main mission structure and while I see its absurdity glaringly, it's not something that actively brought the game down for me like said missions for example.

Just got to chapter 3.  Feels good... no wait, just sour from realizing that sweet semi auto shotgun I found in a cool lil story, oh sweet...no wait, it’s gone.  Did I fully upgrade it and only shot a single bullet, you bet your ass! No, no. It’s gone.  Waste my slow ass time going to the gun shop to see if I could fix the bug. Nah, I should have known given every time something good happens in this game, some bullshit gonna piss me off.  She tests me, oh rockstar! She tests me

Question:

Does new side content become available to explore etc. with each new chapter? I'm in Chapter 3 with like 48% completion because I did so much roaming/exploring/side shit but realized last night I can't even force myself through these story missions. Might pop in now and then for some side stuff like hunting but do new things unlock per chapter really?

I have tonnes of weapons I'd happily let the game steal from me but no, take the one I just got that's head and shoulders above the rest.  take that one!

Oh and tonight I'm gonna back track way out back to that cabin to see if I can grab it again :s  It probably wont be but at least I'll hit a tree and get mauled by a bear

Actually, my pistol disappeared. The one you get from the gunslinger guy you duel on top of the train. I never used it anyway but...good one.

Maybe it's really just the game's on-rails nonsense taking it this far. It just can't trust you with fun equipment, it might detract from its Oscar-worthy story, so it low-key just makes it disappear to re-focus you.

I had a bunch of guns disappear from me during my playthrough. The most frustrating one was during an early mission where I was caught in a gunfight unexpectedly. It was one of those missions where you didn't even really have a chance to equip yourself from your horse, so I only had my pistol with me. Half way through the fight I picked up a terrible repeater that one of the dead had dropped, and it was serviceable through the battle. Unfortunately it ended up replacing my far nicer repeater that I had on my horse. At the time I didn't have near enough money to re-purchase my nicer gun, so I went through more than a few hours with the worst repeater in the game because of the crazy way that this game handles guns.

At various other points I lost a fully upgraded and personalized Carano (sp?) rifle, another repeater, and a pistol.

I really hate how specific guns would be forced on you at different times. After that early unexpected gunfight, I tried hard to always have my prefered weapons equipped, which itself was harder than it should be. I'd equip my guns while riding, and then I'd often have to do it again after arriving. Even then the game would sometimes replace my loadout with a worse version of what I had, or much worse, replace my preferred repeater with a bolt action rifle or something. Have the NPCs yell at me that I'm bringing the wrong gun or something, especially if it's a mission where I need a sniper rifle or something, but the existing system left me in constant worry that I didn't have the guns I wanted, or that my guns would magically disappear. Especially for a game that wants you to customize and bond with your weapons, it seems pretty silly.

I got the Schofield from the Drug store backroom and got away, saved my game then got killed, so reloaded....GONE!

Killed a ton of dudes, picked up all the rifles and shotties and loaded on my horse, hoping to sell them or something. Save...come back later and all my guns are gone except my starter pistol :(

Yeah money becomes irrelevant.  I'm sitting on 9000 and in chapter 6 as well. I've started to wonder how much Dutch wants to steal to finance their future because I feel like my Arthur already has the money and is being selfish

There should be an option where if you donate a shit ton of money you guys leave before the game is actually over and everybody is okay.

I've also lost weapons. None of the unique ones but stuff I had modded and styled.

It's happened like 3 times.  I suspect it has to do with missions where you are forced to use a weapon you didn't have on you

But likely you will have enough money later where this stuff becomes irrelevant.  Like I mentioned I have 9000 without using any gold glitch and I don't really need anything.

Also, at max honor, you get 50% off at all stores

I lost a double action revolver I got for free in chapter 3, and in the epilogue the game gives you a repeating shotgun as part of your loadout for a specific mission (I had never bought one) and I lost that as well. I think I lost a scoped rifle at one point, the Carcano maybe, but I am not sure on that one.

Not the same thing, but in the mission where you get the rolling block rifle I changed it's varnish and shit but when I did that it changed the varnish on all of my other longarm weapons as well. None were what I had changed them to, even the rolling block. And I never got a single satchel until the epilogue but it's appearance changed into the Valuables Satchel but had none of the benefits. It was still the default one, but with a fresh look.
