Growing up in northern NJ where there were a lot of mom and pop Italian pizzerias and having moved to the Boston area 20 ish years ago, I can say that i was surprised by the number of smaller, family owned pizzerias up here. A lot of them are "So and so's House of Pizza" which I quickly learned meant they were owned primarily by Greeks. I grew up on Italian American pizza and Greek diner food where they usually didn't make pizza (you're not going to be able to compete with the dedicated pizzerias and you have 10,000 other things on the menu anyway so why try), so I generally don't like Greek pizza up here, but maybe @Ghost_MH and @NeoJoe have a different take because they're more local than I am. Anyway I could see a Canadian coming to Watertown or some shit, seeing a billion pizzerias, and deciding that Boston Pizza was a reasonable thing to call a chain. There's a time and place for Greek pizza. It's not my favorite, but it's what I grew up so I do have a soft spot for the style. They can just be too oily for my taste, but sometimes I do have that itch for a really unhealthy pizza with an extra crispy crust and it just works. At least as far as Massachusetts pizzas go, it's not too bad. I'd certainly take a Greek pizza or something like beach pizza any day of the week.
