Canadian Insurrection | UPDATE - Oversight commission rules invocation of Emergency Act by Trudeau was warranted

Recommended Posts

The idea that all protests are created equal and the moral principles of which the protests and protestors represent have no bearing on what is considered “right” vs “wrong” is insane. I just don’t see the point in defending pieces of shit in order to prove how balanced you are.

RCMP went to break up the blockade at the Alberta-US border and were attacked by the protestors and retreated.

Someone tried to kill a cop and they are still handling them with kid gloves. Just imagine if an Indigenous/Black drive of the country's border involved protestors trying to kill a cop. Just imagine.

Right-wing columnist here with a trash take!

So Ottawa is both:

  • A major G7 capital city
  • A wasteland full of drug dealers and criminal gangs

That seems to match what most conservatives think of major cities.

Her comment was targeted at what the work-from-home has done to the Ottawa core.

There's a huge amount of people that live downtown in Ottawa—just because they are working from home (and the government workers are as well), that doesn't make it a wasteland of crime. There's been a massive downplaying from right-wing press on how this occupation is affecting people who live in downtown Ottawa.

As a resident of downtown Ottawa, that is her perspective on what it has been like for her.  Even before the pandemic downtown Ottawa was often referred to as the "city/town that fun forgot". When you lose all of the commuters, those areas can get pretty barren because it doesn't have the other things to do that places like downtown Toronto or Montreal have.
