Dodger
Seems like we have a pretty consensus top 5 of Biden Warren Sanders Harris Buttigieg, and then maybe Beto hanging out around 6th. Someone from the bottom 6 needs to break out with this debate because as of right now it's just a formality they haven't been eliminated. And even then we have a top 3 of Warren Sanders Biden. Anyone not of those 3 really needs to come out swinging and go for the throat because all of a sudden holy shit, January is right around the corner. SaysWho?
I feel like many candidates did go away this year. It's just that there are a ton of candidates running in general. I mean, eight dropped out and it's the October before the Iowa caucuses. I'm pretty sure that's unprecedented.

b_m_b_m_b_m
The threat of automation vis a vi AI is vastly overblown given how much of the economy and current jobs are service based. These people just need higher wages.
b_m_b_m_b_m
There is 0 difference between paying taxes for health insurance and paying premiums plus variable "cost sharing" mechanisms, except one is vastly easier to understand for 90+% of people. This shit isn't hard to explain.

Yeah (which is why we should have wage subsides), but the manufacturing jobs they are referring to, the empty factories, those jobs are gone because of automation. Warren makes it seem like this is just about trade policy and corporate structure, but even if you threw tariffs up, the factories that would be built here would have robots. If you raised their wages, they'd have robots. If their health insurance became too costly, they'd have robots. If it were marginally cheaper in a three year time frame than to hire any human, there'd be robots. The only reason people talk to longingly about good manufacturing jobs is because of the threat and actual gains made in that industry by unions, whose rose to power in a time that is never returning. It's pure nostalgia
Scott
Warren’s answer there regarding billionaires, in response to Beto, is the best answer I’ve heard in any debate in recent years. She absolutely crushed it.
