I plan to be spending my days with my wife, in a small home in the woods of Maine. I will trade in my busy life for a very quiet one where I mostly read books, cook, take walks, and tend to a garden.

Still the same wife?

I’m planning to buy a few hundred acres of land in 2025. I want to build a small home community on it and give away most of the houses. I assume I’ll be doing that for the balance of my life.

retiring in sbl’s home community

That is SO weird, I also was just thinking about retiring in sbl's home community!

I hope the purpose of it isn't to start a cult.

... this is how we end up in a cult, isn't it?

You’re looking at it all wrong, the cult is a totally seperare side part of this.

My (eventual) tiny home wouldn’t take up much of that acreage.

It's not a community it's a compound :sickos:

The price of land my grandparents bought and that I grew up on (and now own myself) was often referred to jokingly as the compound by friends of the family after the whole Waco situation…
