In a vacuum it looks good, DF is all about the nitty gritty so they’re gonna find stuff a lot of people would barely or at all notice. 
 

I will say I do not have a very discerning eye, but viewing both games side by side the PS5 absolutely has that blurrier or muddier look to it and it just felt sluggish to me on a controller. I probably could have remedied that with some sensitivity settings though.

Interesting. I will try the demo out on the XSX now and see the difference. I'm finding the controls to be very solid.

Yeah it’s just a great looking game, it’s great looking on the deck too, luckily you can’t go too wrong here. I would figure out that damn color problem with the SX tho @best3444, some games are just going to look better on SX, especially in regards to resolution, technically that should be happening more often and I expect it will eventually.

 

But there is no technical color difference between the two systems, so it’s just something with settings. It’s unfortunately something you have to be there to really troubleshoot. Like I know how it probably looks and the various settings on console and tv that can affect that but can’t say which particular combination of things would fix it, keep trying a bit more!

 

What i’m confused about with their breakdown is they say XSX and ps5 pixel count the same and seem surprised why then ps5 looks so much blurrier but then mention they believe it to be checkerboarded so wouldn’t the obvious answer be that the native internal resolution of ps5 is likely lower?

two blind dudes was fucking lit. I wish I was recording because holy fuck I killed both blind dudes at the same time with a sniper bullet. I threw a hand grenade to stun them and their stagger into stunned animation just happened to line up their backs perfectly for me to get a collateral kill on them.

Well I'm downloading the xsx version now. I think overall I optimized my settings pretty good so I'll see soon.

The way DF talked about the PS5 version seemed to imply that Capcom could theoretically patch that version and get it to look as good or better than the XSX version, if they choose to do so. 

 

They mentioned that ray tracing was broken in the demo on PS5 and it has been improved in the retail version, so perhaps there's hope for PS5 owners on that front.

It definitely has the edge in resolution on xsx. It's pretty damn noticeable. Kinda disappointing but it's nothing I'd go and buy after I have the PS5 version. 

 

But, the haptic feedback and better lighting on PS5 is nice. Oh well.

I'm a sucker for polish in games. The smoothness of the menus / UI, the way the text pops when you pick up money, to use a cliche - the visceral feel of the enemies reacting to shots in specific parts of their body. This game nails all that and more. It cleans up the frustrating old school nature of the original when it comes to having autosaves now before bigger sequences. 

 

Games got its hooks in me.

So I didn’t even know this had a

castle

section to it all this time but that makes sense now that RE fans still love this one so much it’s actually less of a departure from other ones that I thought, more connected, idk I had it in my mind that it was almost level based in mostly outside areas like globe trotting idk.

 

Also makes how much RE8 mirrors this game even more apparent Im sure along with changes they made in this version. 

 

Also between that, the more horror atmosphere here, and the lighting, I’m actually kinda reminded of the original RE4 prototype a bit here!

   The HDR in this game is so fantastic!! Switching back and forth it's just a game changer. Also playing it on my LGC1 83" just brings everything to the next level. I know many beat the "Perfect BLACKS" thing to death, but it is just a thing to behold when in person. And the Dolby surround is also next level. It was hard to betray my Resident Evil collection on PC for this game but the Series X wasn't in any way a "wrong" choice.

   I started on Hard and it's kicking my ass in a good way. I've played now about 4 hours and I've dies more than I would like to say. I'm head shotting much better after I severely adjusted the default aiming. I turned of aim assist first thing, had to max out sensitivity in both game and aiming. I was kinda shocked at how slow the default was because I'm in no way a twitch shooter in games, many times I lower sensitivity but not here.

 

  Oh and the FUCKING bear traps were PISSING ME OFF last night....lol I haven't missed many, I deactivate them using my LEG.....lol

   Yea but at the rate I play games it takes me forever to beat a game. I LOVED the last God of War, it's up there in my all time favorites easily. Even a game like Resident Evil 4 will take me 2 weeks to finish. Really I could retire for at least 5 years from buying games, I'm pretty buried with AAA titles that are unplayed. Games like Dying Light 2, Deathloop, The newest  Ratchet and Clank, Xenoblade Chronicles 3, Demon Souls Remake, Eldenring, Death Stranding, The NEW Horizon game, The Final Fantasy 7 remake, Crisis Core: Reunion, etc etc just off the top of my head!

 

Oh....Lego Star Wars: Skywalker Saga, and BOTH Spiderman games!!

   CRAP forgot all about that! I'm all in on PSVR2 if SONY would just FU%$ING release it in retail stores. Having RE: Village and GT7 in my library I'm excited to give a VR unit a try. I refuse to buy it from the SONY store though......I have never even had a VR headset in my hands let alone on my head so I'm unsure how I would like it....I've said it before, but if I could buy it at BestBuy I'd have 60 days to return and an automatic 2 year warranty! So I'm sticking to my guns and going to wait until it's a retail product.

Playing on XSX, the game looks fantastic and I didn't touch anything in the display options.  It defaulted to the non-RT performance mode and I haven't had a single noticeable hitch.  I also don't think I would have noticed any sort of deadzone issue unless I read about it.  That's the kind of thing I always assume just differs between games, and it only take a short time to get used to how aiming in feels in different games.  I increased the acceleration slightly but haven't thought about it since.

 

I appreciate DF's work but looking at games with that sort of microscope, especially ones that already look and perform exceptionally well to my eye, seems like such a joyless exercise.  It's like watching a movie and only focusing on the continuity errors.

So, some fucking bullshit is that the gatcha isn't actually random. It is predetermined when you make a new game. Each pull is determined by the type of coins you put in. Let's say you put in 3 gold coins and you get Shotgun Leon.  So you reload and put in three gold coins again. Well, you'll get Shotgun Leon again. Now, let's say you put in 1 silver coin and 2 gold coins and you get Ashley. Well, if you put in 3 gold coins after that you will still get shotgun Leon. Each combination path is predetermined. You can never skip shotgun Leon or Ashley or whatever. I really hate that because there is a movement speed increase charm and you can't just save scum to get it.

At chapter 8 and ya this is just sublime. As a newcomer this is just a fantassssstic RE. The level design is on point here. I don’t really have any complaints I can think of which is impressive considering how much escort mission there is here.

That all went over my head, I actually do-not-know what your even talking about. No offence. I mean the game in linier as all RE games are, is that the problem? What are said coins your referring to? or are you bothered buy the actual lack of alternate direction in the story. Other than weapons the game isn't going to play differently. I think I just don't understand the your issue...

This is about a target practice mini game where you can earn charms with bonuses attached.

Anyway, I might put off TLOU just long enough to get back to Metroid Prime, because I was really liking it for the few hours I played.
