It's a shame to see Joe Rogan devolve as he has. He used to have great episodes and wide ranging guests, now it's: "I took everything to save me from Covid and maybe it was the drugs or maybe it was Ivermectin". What a downfall.

The wrong guy from Newsradio got murdered.

How many times does he ask his guests if they've tried DMT, and say "it's entirely possible..."?

Drugs don't get mentioned until around the 38 minute mark. It surprisingly doesn't rely poking fun at the same low hanging fruit that everyone else mocks, but is still unmistakably a parody of the Joe Rogan Experience. It tap into the core essence of what makes his podcast a joke.

It really is a shame. I used to listen to his podcast frequently because he'd get highly interesting people and mostly let them go off for literally hours unedited. I thought Rogan himself was merely...there...and I didn't care about his presence either which way because the guests were able to just freely talk. I don't remember when I tuned out but whenever he started fucking talking ALL THE TIME would be it, not sure when that was. There was some 'Hollywood elite healthy big brain guys with mega money' circle jerk and I turned it off. I hear that's basically the standard format now.

PS: I'll also add I love martial arts so that used to take up like 30% of his rants so for those I DID actually like listening to him. Whatever dumb garbage he spouts, his skills and knowledge in that field were always legit.

This is all completely accurate. Joe Rogan used to be smart and very open-minded, but all it's done is made him fall in with the Qanon crazies and the alt-right more and more.

Besides his health views, what aligns him with those two groups?

The kinds of guests he's more and more frequently brought on - I don't follow Joe Rogan closely so I wouldn't be able to speak to specific details but having listened to random episodes that's kind of been my take, and his recent bout with Covid and his views there are the conclusion to that I think.

Rogan has always had a wide array of guests on his show though, and his views on health have always been goofy. I think people just missed that Rogan has always been a fake “thoughtful” person because of how he goes about interviewing people.

I just scrolled through his last couple of months of podcasts in the Spotify app and it isn’t like he’s interviewing Richard Spencer everyday.

Well I didn't mean to imply he's full crazy or anything, just that there seemed to be a shift in the predominance of some guests who are right or lean right. He still has other kinds of guests on, but my sense of it was that that had shrunk considerably compared to years before.
