The district attorneys for Manhattan and Westchester County asked New York Attorney General Letitia James on Wednesday for evidence related to her office’s bombshell report accusing Gov. Andrew Cuomo of sexual harassment.

The Westchester DA, Mimi Rocah, in a letter obtained by NBC News, asked James to send her materials related to one of the 11 women who in an official report accused Cuomo of sexual harassment.

Rocah said she plans to conduct an inquiry into whether the alleged sexual misconduct by New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo that occurred in her jurisdiction was “criminal in nature.”

I think what we're starting to experience is a particular period in time where accountability is completely absent from political discourse. Previously, just the hint of bad behavior was almost enough to derail a politician, but now we have politicians who have zero qualms about committing any amount of infractions, crimes, murders or rapes because they'll wait out the ramifications and have people fight their battles for them over social media. I hope I'm wrong here, but I suspect he's not going to resign, and he's going to continue acting as if this is just another hiccup in his political career.

The urge to blame the era of Trump is always present, but I suspect this is a symptom of post Al Franken reactions where communication directors realized that accountability only loses the platform, and thus, the only successful strategy for bad behavior is business as usual until the farm explodes.

Retire bitch and destroy the bridge that bears his family name.

Yeah no. Also, nobody, I mean nobody in Jersey or NY actually calls it anything but the Tappan Zee. I've never in my life heard "take the Cuomo bridge", I've only heard that when someone ridicules the attempted name change. They just need to take that dumb official name change off and done.

I think it ebbs and flows. When you have outright violence/revolt against leaders, they get afraid of death. After a while, they are less afraid of death, but still afraid of upsetting the public. Then, even farther down the road, they are not afraid of anything. Then, they grow so bold that violence/revolt erupts again. We're near that late stage right now, I think, in the US.

Roberta Kaplan is latest prominent figure to quit in wake of scandal engulfing Cuomo

Roberta Kaplan has resigned as chairwoman of Time’s Up after facing widespread criticism for allegedly advising New York governor Andrew Cuomo’s administration on sexual harassment allegations against him.

Kaplan, a prominent lawyer who founded Time’s Up legal defense fund and represents the writer E Jean Carroll in a defamation lawsuit against Donald Trump, resigned on Monday, becoming the latest prominent figure to quit in the wake of the scandal engulfing Cuomo.

Time’s Up was set up in response to the #MeToo movement to promote gender equality. The news was first reported by the New York Times and confirmed by the organization.

Impeach him anyway.

The fact that he's resigning effective 14 days from now instead of immediately does kind of make me wonder if he's planning a smash and grab on his way out the door.

I suspect that he's going to use the next 14 days to start a war with New Jersey so he can declare martial law and remain governor for life.

We all listened to his speech in the office and it was basically "I'm Italian, it's a political hit-job, gimme a break ayyy...ohhh...." nonsense. Not that anything could could've come of that speech anyway BUT in case anyone wanted a tl;dr.

It's a real pity. I know many here were always lukewarm at best to Cuomo, but I remember (I think it was actually you) talking about how Cuomo's press conferences were actually comforting at the beginning of the pandemic, that it was nice to see some leaders out there with plans and authority over COVID since Trump seemed lost and uninterested. I really wanted this to be an example of him meeting the moment, but it wasn't.

In hindsight the press conferences were only good in comparison to the Trump administration being totally AWOL.
