  1. Here is a better explanation for whats going on. Not that Bungie doesn't have issues on their side, but no MMO is 90-115GB in size. I will gladly take Vault of Glass over running Exodus Crash one more time.
  2. I mostly am not a huge fan of roguelike or roguelite games, honestly I don't even know the difference between those two variations. However, I play a lot of the co-op ones because its one of my buddies favorite genres and I'd be lying if I said I'm not having a blast with Gunfire Reborn. The best description I've seen is that its Borderlands meets Risk of Rain 2. You have a handful of guns with different abilities. The different guns cause different types of damage that match with enemies shields. Blue = Lightning, Yellow = Corrosive, Red = Fire. There is also just normal guns that don't have elements attached to them. Some guns have secondary fire like the lightning blast rifle will shoot a static circle in front of you and any bullets you shoot through it have increased damage. Unfortunately most of the guns I've unlocked so far aren't super fun to use, but the few that are fun like the prism are extremely satisfying to use. Levels don't vary a ton, but each room has multiple doors that will unlock different pathways so that you don't retread over the same ground through each run. Each level also has a theme, first is a tomb, second is a desert, third is rain. I haven't made it to the last 2 levels. The 2 characters that are in the game right now have different abilities, the cat has an orb that can initially freeze enemies for a few seconds and cause a little bit of damage as well. The dog can dual wield specific weapons for a quite a bit of time. You also gather scrolls and perks while you advance through each play through. For instance you can get a perk that the orb the cat uses doesn't freeze anymore but increases 200% every time you upgrade it. You can cause the orb to have an AOE perk and even have it hit multiple times. There is also increased elemental perks and a ton others. Scrolls are a little more specific and sometimes have trade offs. Like you cause 25% more damage while full health. You lose weapons, scrolls, perks, etc after each run death (roguelite). The only thing you maintain are soul gems, which you can spend in game to revive yourself after being downed or just die and use the gems to level up your character. Each character has a skill tree that you can upgrade after each run. The usual things like increase health, shields, or gain increased inscriptions on weapons (perks on the weapons). Its in early access, but I'm having a ton of fun.
  3. RDR2 is probably the only game that comes to mind that I actively dislike. Everything else mentioned in the thread so far I agree with the critiques, but still enjoy the games or don't really dislike the game. It just doesn't click for me Like Breath of the Wild, I love the game, but the way people bolster it you'd think it was the perfect game. There are shortcomings that don't really get talked about or overlooked by the general population. HZD and GOW are both gorgeous games, great gameplay, interesting stories, just never clicked with me enough to finish them.
  4. I'm almost done with Star Trek: The Next Generation Not usually a fan of episodic shows that don't really have an overarching plot, but its been a good watch through most of it. Very rarely are there episodes that I absolutely hate or skip. I'm glad they got McFadden to come back as Crusher, though I didn't totally hate Wesley. Even if a few of his episodes were very "Mary Sue" I felt like he failed almost as much as he succeeded. I would have liked to see more of him in later seasons.
  5. I always heard this was one of the hidden gems from the 360 era. I bought it on Steam some years later, but it never clicked for me. I'd be happy to try this out after seeing its refined gameplay
  6. I remember seeing this awhile back. I feel like if the guy would have just left it with "We are sorry for your loss, but there are no refunds" this wouldn't have gained even more attention then it already did. Instead the guy just goes balls to the wall. https://web.archive.org/web/20200523210610/https://www.justinmontneywedding.com/ Several posts on the company facebook, made a website under the dudes name, and just went on the attack. I assume it was done to try and save face because his company was getting neg bombed on just about every site, but there are better avenues to choose from.
  7. I'm currently trying to read Lord of the Rings. I remember being put off after trying to read the Hobbit some years back and being bored to tears with it. As a lover of the film series I thought it was worth at least the attempt to finish the books. I'm enjoying it so far, there is so far a pretty good number of changes I had no idea about so its nice to at least be kept on my toes.
  8. Thats an awesome deal. I paid 77.77 for the physical "special" edition. Though I get 180 instead of 156 tracks. Wonder what the different ones are. Might pick this up either way just so I don't have to open the CDs and can't just keep it as a collectors thing. EDIT: Its $34 on iTunes.
  9. This is relates to how I feel about them. I really enjoyed what I played of Dark Souls 3 and Bloodborne. It wasn't like I just threw 2 hours into each game and called it day. I put some good time into the games. The process of dying and back tracking I feel only becomes more tedious as the game goes on which is where I start to turn off. I'm not incredibly bad at the game, but how much you trace over similar ground just get exhausting and I start to lose interest.
  10. Its really upsetting to me that this isn't a Play Anywhere title. I swear I could have read a few sources claiming that it was and is the only reason I bought on the MS store instead of the mojang launcher.
  11. I started Witcher 3 again on the PC for the 8th time. I have a save file on Xbox, but the PC version just looks so much better and as dumb as hairworks is it really makes enemies like the griffin look so much better. I probably only average 90 frames with mostly everything set to high. I really think the game doesn't start off all that great. Everything in Kaer Morhen and White Orchard doesn't do anything to hook me. Its not until you hit the bloody baron quest line where the game really starts to shine. Which I think is why I was put off so many times before to play this game. That and I really didn't enjoy the combat at first. It felt really janky to me, but it gets better as you get use to it. Minecraft Dungeons is fun, but I'm constantly pushing the difficulty scale on missions (I've only done 4-5 missions, but am running IV-V difficulty). Its really hard without playing with friends. Constantly running out of arrows and you can't just blindly rush into a horde of enemies and expect to come out alright. Hopefully I can get some friends to purchase the game.
  12. Sure its not perfect and I don't expect to play it primarily on the Switch, but its a really nice option to have to play on the go. Friday and Saturday are dead slow at my work, Switcher would be awesome to pull out and play for a few hours.
  13. Yeah the switch version has cloud saves that you can send between GOG/Steam and Switch.
  14. I kind of want to buy switcher just for the cross saves. I wish that would be extended to Xbox and PS4 as well.
  15. While a large majority of the game does look visually impressive. Xbob isn't wrong here. The most prominent are Cloud's apartment door looks completely unrendered and the horrible skybox they specifically have you look at while grappling up the wall. With many other small instances here and there.
  16. I think thats a pretty impossible task to be given either way. Anyone who expected it to be as iconic had unrealistic expectations. I should note that I'm not disagreeing with you. I would recommend the ADV dub when given the choice. Given the mostly small quirks, I don't think the Netflix dub should be considered anywhere near bad or even avoided.
  17. The only thing I remember it changing was the relationship between Kaworu and Shinji because Netflix opted for a more literal translation. There was also some minor stuff like licensing issues with one of the songs and one of his more prominent lines. Is there more that I'm missing? Though you can pretty easily find blu-ray rips from the Japanese release where people went back and added the original english dub.
  18. If by playing through it multiple times you are referring to the multiple endings its not really playing through multiple times. You will tread over some of the same content, but you'll also play as different characters, in different situations, in different environments.
  19. For $800 you could get an R7 with a 1660 TI. Asus TUF If not, I spent 10 minutes or so browsing r/laptopdeals and didn't really find anything more appealing than the 2 you linked. The Acer is the better value.
  20. I've bought oodles of games twice. In the past it was typically console, then later down the road on PC. More recently though I buy Digital + Physical when I get a LE game that I don't want to open or keep for collecting purposes. Yeah it would be very complicated. I don't know how you would even DRM a disc, but the community wouldn't be happy about that. It would also kill reselling if the disc could only be tied to one owner. To answer the original question, yes I very much would like a physical and digital copy as I love any other form of media that offers both. However I don't see it happening.
  21. I didn't know that KOTR 2 was really "hated". Having gone back and tried to play ME: A and Sea of Thieves they are just as bad as the first time I tried to play them.
  22. I just finished Gravity Rush and have seen Prototype recommended as a "like" game. Would you recommend it?
  23. Control Metro Exodus Star Wars Battlefront 2 Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Ori and the Will of the Wisps The Messenger Doom Eternal Resident Evil 3 Final Fantasy VII Remake Wolfenstein: The New Order Super Meat Boy Titanfall 2 - Hard isn't hard, still a good game though Gravity Rush Remastered I almost gave up on this game pretty early on. I can get agitated with games pretty quickly depending on the circumstances and drop them almost as quickly. Why spend time on something you don't like right? In the end I'm glad I stuck with the game though as its a really unique experience. The closest thing I could compare it to is Infamous and that even doesn't quite fit right. To start off with my issues, the game starts you out explaining your toolkit, but very soon afterwards introduces challenge missions. Everything in challenge missions is based off of how fast you can do a specific task. Reach all the checkpoints with X amount of time, kill as many enemies as possible, etc. I spent a good 30 minutes trying to do the very first challenge (it was a race type challenge) and get the gold tier reward for it. I became increasingly agitated as no matter how much I refined my movements I just couldn't accomplish it. So I moved on, only to find out that the next couple missions are still teaching you the rest of your toolkit. The stasis field is borderline useless and very unreliable. No matter how much you upgrade the ability it still will only grab 1 item despite being equally apart from the other item. For example there is a challenge mission where you have to move as many items as possible into an area, you could be standing on top of two boxes and the game will only grab one or perhaps even none. Not only was I unable to gold tier these challenges, but I hardly ever used stasis in combat unless I was forced too. This impacts combat pretty hard because there is only really 4 things you can do. Gravity kick (a dashing kick while in the air), Stasis (throw objects), kicking on the ground, and special attacks. Kicking on the ground is essentially useless, half the enemies can't hit you in the air and gravity kicks are more powerful. Combat basically just boils down to gravity kicking until your special pops. As negative as those examples are, the game really is pretty fun. The challenge missions, outside of the stasis field, are just challenging enough, but not unachievable. A few of them will probably take you a couple tries to nail down some movement. Flying around a blast, there is gems littered all over the map and incentivizes exploring, as well as collectables that serve as "ghosts" who tell a part of a story when you find them. The side missions aren't anything special gameplay wise, but the do offer a little world building and let you get to know some of the side characters a little more. I never quite knew the extent of the Vita's power as I never really played anything on it besides ports of other games I already played, but I'm amazed at how large the world is in Gravity Rush and how you can travel between all of it without loading screens, buffers, nothing. Initially you just start on 1 of 4 islands, but as you unlock more you literally just fly between all of them. Granted there are quick travel mechanics in the game, but its really fun just to fly around as you unlock more parts of the map. Granted it might be different on the PS4, but the few videos I watched didn't seem to have any huge differences. Graphics are really so/so. The enhancements of the remaster really do make the game shine in a way it never really did on the Vita. Character models get more smooth out some of the rough edges like on characters shoulders. Environment textures have added new effects that weren't present in the original. I believe the view distance got a bit of a boost too. Its really a solid upgrade, but it still looks a bit dated, like the facials animations for in-game cutscenes are not the best. Luckily most of the games story is presented in a comic book style much like Mirror's edge. The games story alludes to some plot elements, but doesn't really explain them. Which I'm told is explained in Gravity Rush 2, but a bit jarring at times. I will note that Gravity Rush 2 so far has knocked out every complaint I had about Gravity Rush. Challenges aren't introduced until after a tutorial level, stasis field is 100% more reliable, combat so far isn't just spam gravity kick until your special pops.
