About Me

  1. I don’t know what else to say, I just wanted to create a space in which I can discuss it. I am half way through the series and it is extremely, extremely good. I would rank Episode 9 as one of the finest pieces of episodic animation ever created.
  2. The series airs starting on October 3. I'm looking forward to it. To anyone that remembers my time from IGN's anime boards, I was/am a big InuYasha/Takahashi fan. This could be fun.
  3. I just started watching Attack on Titan last night. 4-5 episodes in... holy crap, the writer does not give a crap about who lives and dies in this show. Loving it so far, and something tells me it's only going to get crazier. I saw that there's a live action movie they made in Japan that follows the first season, is it worth watching or is it crap? How are the games?
  4. WarnerMedia is looking to offload anime-focused streaming service Crunchyroll and Sony is among the interested acquirers, according to a source with knowledge of the talks
  5. For the film's 20th anniversary they have finally decided to release it on blu-ray. I recall pimping this all the time back on IGN so I'm happy to see this finally come to blu-ray. I hope this means that Millennium Actress and Tokyo Godfathers are soon to follow.
  6. I knew Crunchyroll was already toying with original animated series, but I didn't realize they were so far ahead with four of the series being animated by their own in-house studio. I don't have the time I'd like to watch as much anime as I had in previous years, but I still read a whole heaping of manga and manhwa. That said, I cannot recommend Noblesse and Tower of God enough. They're both based on comics available over on Webtoons and they're both brilliant.
  7. Story here: https://www.theverge.com/2019/7/18/20698910/kyoto-animation-arson-attack-deaths-injuries-suspect Of all the animation studios to attack, someone attacks one of the few studios that actually treats its animators like human beings? This is completely senseless.
  8. Also a 4K remaster of the original film. As a huge fan of the manga series and the film, this is holy shit YAS news if true. https://www.slashfilm.com/akira-anime-series-sequel-4k-remaster/ Getting a Final Fantasy VII remake, a Denis Villenueve-directed Dune film series (and spin-off TV series), a sequel (finally!) to Shenmue II with Shenmue III from creator Yu Suzuki, a Deadwood sequel film to the TV series from creator David Milch, a reboot Evangelion film series from creator Hideaki Anno, and now this? This is an embarassment of riches. And let's not forget we're get
  9. http://www.nozomientertainment.com/product/please-teacher-blu-ray-collection/ As someone who has the DVD box set and never thought this would come to blu-ray this is a pleasant surprise. I'd like to know what it actually looks like though as that trailer on the store page appears to be the DVD version (I hope )
  10. I want credit for starting this thread I've been watching Asobi Asobase, it's probably an AotS for me :P Ep 9 - where my signature comes from Ep 10 spoilers
  11. https://www.behindthevoiceactors.com/Unsho-Ishizuka/ Fuck cancer.
  12. Started last night on Crunchyroll. While it was entertaining, I felt like I missed an episode between what I thought was the season finale last year and the season premiere this year. Anyone else watching?
  13. For me this original 70's series is what got me into Anime. The updated series came out in Japan a couple of years ago and really liked it. I even got some imported versions (still can't tell if real or copies) so I am happy to see an official release is happening here in the States. I ordered my copy. BB has cheaper price https://www.bestbuy.com/site/star-blazers-space-battle-battleship-yamato-part-one-blu-ray-dvd/6255052.p?skuId=6255052 But for those that rather go with Amazon https://www.amazon.com/Star-Blazers-Battleship-Yamato-Blu-ray/dp/B07CJV3VR2/ref=sr_1_1
  14. If you haven't watched Life Cycle of an Anime Fan you should. It is kinda spot on even if the order varies for mer personally. When I did start watching anime it was Pokemon. I even got the VHS tapes as Christmas gifts. As I got a wee bit older I tried watching as much anime on Toonami (before the AS version) as I could. The issue with that was that I could not keep up with the episodes and could never keep up with any of the plots. Outside of Toonami there was shit like Medabots and Zatch Bell that my brother and I loved watching and owned a good amount of toys/cards from both se
