  1. I wasn't sure the difficulty jump from whatever normal is called to Ultra-Violence. I unlocked mastery for Super Shotgun super early in the game and almost stopped using the flamethrower entirely. I'd only really use it when I needed to double up the armor, cast flamethrower on a random group of possessed and finish one off with the meat hook for double armor shards.
  2. Game always looked cool, but bosses were such huge bullet sponges that it turned me off. Probably purchase it when it goes on sale down the road
  3. I'd say its pretty much a necessity on higher difficulties. I played on Ultra-Violence and had to chainsaw someone probably every other arena in the beginning, every arena later on in the game.
  4. I'm not sure the example they use here https://developer.nvidia.com/rtxgi actually looks better. It gets their point across about the lighting, but it removes the darkness almost completely for an area that is suppose to be dark.
  5. Diablo 3 and Halo are pretty good to run through. Halo's easy mode is extremely easy. Minecraft Dragon Quest Builders 2 - I don't know exactly how the co-op works in this, but the gameplay is really fun so can't be that bad right? Castle Crashers? I can't say I've ever played it, but I know it was big back on the 360. TemTem maybe? Destiny 2 - if nothing else you can just run through the story and shoot things These are more party games. Golf with Friends can be hilarious at times, especially when you put wacky settings on. Pummel Party is pretty much Mario Party on steam. Uno

  7. Probably too late to have the shipping changed, but maybe they could drop it in an Amazon Locker nearby.
  8. The only hiccup I've had is some of the netflix preview videos have been super low quality. Other than that its been running as normal.
  9. I was the same, but with Light Burst or whatever its called. The fire ball you can throw in the air and dash off of. It absolutely wrecked a few bosses so I never took it out of rotation.
  10. So many small things annoy me about Eternal and its changes from 2016. This is super easy to fix, but why wouldn't you keep your key bindings from 2016 and build on them. Why move weapon mods and punch/glory kill around. Its such a weird change and playing 2016 right before release really screwed me up until I swapped everything over. The HUD is functionally better, but the colors are just so bright and colorful. Though the top right progress bar could be established a little better, maybe put pentagrams for combat and ? for secrets. I had no idea what any of that even meant because I blew through the post level screen on the first couple levels. Environments are much more varied than the UAC, Mars, and Hell levels of 2016, but I don't think Eternal comes close in terms of the atmosphere and tone that 2016 creates. Its something I miss a lot, instead of dark and gritty everything seems way more video gamey and sci-fi. I guess it really comes down to preference, but I really do wish they had kept the same philosophy behind 2016. Is there really a point to having to collect the batteries in the map to use in the Hub/Ship thing instead of just having that collectible on the map somewhere? It seems like a rather unnecessary part of the game, though the prison fighting thing is alright I guess. I've only used it twice so far. Most of the enemy and weapon redesigns I'm okay with except a few. The Combat Shotgun and Super Shotgun sound extremely weak compared to their 2016 counterparts. The Cacodemon, Revenant, and Possessed/Unwilling are changes for the worst. Cacodemon is a small change, it has a pupil now, just makes it seem less demonic. The Revenant looks so clean compared to 2016, 2016 has blood spattered across his head and soulless gray eyes, while Eternal has the bright yellow eyes with a clean head. Possessed/Unwilling go from a mutated human to a basic zombie. Just small changes that make Eternal lose that feeling of 2016. Speaking of Possessed/Unwilling, I'm not really sure I understand the changes made. In 2016 they were essentially cannon fodder to help you regain health if you need it. Now they can't be one punched into a Glory Kill (its several punches now) and you don't have a pistol to stagger them. Not worth it to waste chainsaw on them for ammo, not worth wasting ammo on them either. Not to mention the extreme range of their lunge to attack you. You're essentially just avoiding them in every instance they aren't needed to be killed. Platforming is still mind-numbingly boring, but with dash, grappling, and having to time jumps at least they made an attempt to make it more interesting. Its easily the worst part about the Doom reboot series. While I appreciate the extra mobility in combat, I feel like standard strafing tactics don't work anymore. Added with weak points that pretty much have to be focused, its like Bacon says. Doom is forcing me into a specific playstyle. Weaknesses still existed in 2016, but you aren't shoehorned into exploiting them at every single moment. I feel like whenever a Arachnotron is in the Arena you HAVE to focus its head canon or it will just lay into you and Cacodemons take so many bullets to kill that its by far easier just to lob a grenade in their mouth. Don't take this the wrong way. I still think highly of this game and am having a lot of fun with it. Its just small changes that I wish wouldn't have changed.
  11. I hate to keep blowing up this thread, but now that I'm working graves I have a ton of time to blow through games. Control Metro Exodus Star Wars Battlefront 2 Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Ori and the Will of the Wisps The Messenger Messenger was pretty good, but there are some platforming puzzles that are pure rage inducing. With Celeste you 100% know its your fault, there is no RNG involved, but I specifically remember this section where to get across to have to hit 3 ghost enemies and for the most part they were at the same location, but not always. They would randomly take a different route and I would continuously fall to my death. I had to stop playing on 3 different occasions in the same night because I couldn't get past it. The rest of it was pretty good, a good use of the mechanics to platform, moderately difficult (outside of a select few platforming sections). I wasn't all too interested in the story in the beginning, it doesn't really start making strides until the very end of the game. Once I started developing an interest it ended. The music has some bangers, but because you retread the same stages throughout the game they lose their spark. The last part is the time travel mechanic. Honestly don't really know how I feel about it, it serves more of a story purpose rather than an actual gameplay mechanic. I wish when you warped between the two there was different mechanics to differentiate the two a little more rather than just different paths opening. They never created a puzzle that peaked my interest with it, I just wish they had done more with it. Probably give the game like a 7/10, which I feel I rate a lot of games at that score, but if I finish the game it deserves at least a 7.
  12. Control Metro Exodus Star Wars Battlefront 2 Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Ori and the Will of the Wisps Beat BotW again. Watched a buddy play while we were having a gaming night and it inspired me to play again, especially since I haven't done any of the DLC. I still didn't do most of the DLC, I only did about half of Champions and maybe got half of the new gear. I did spend a lot more time upgrading gear this time around. I enjoyed it a lot, despite me saying that I probably wouldn't find myself playing it again anytime soon. Ori is current GOTY for the year though it has some intense competition coming soon. Probably going to go back in when I get minute as I'm really relatively close to having all of the abilities and upgrades.
  13. One of the few complaints I've seen about the Blind Forest is about how bland the combat is. Its one of the weaker points in the game. I guess there are better options than implementing money and vendors for new weapons/abilities, but the customization is a huge plus personally. I changed up my abilities a lot on different combat shrines and bosses to make them much easier. I have seen some technical issues floating around and I've found a couple bugs myself. Hopefully they squash those relatively quickly. The first game ran better from the get go.
  14. I'm curious to know what feels so different to you? Maybe its been too long since I've played the original, but I finished this game last night and I think it just as good if not better than the original in every way.
  15. It’s been pretty spot on for me. It’s never far back enough that I’m actually upset about how far away it is. It’s usually nearby and just a few seconds away from what I was doing.
  16. Yeah I've had Minoria in my wishlist for awhile. Just doesn't look quite good enough to pull the trigger on.
  17. Shoulda bought a SNES mini when it popped up locally, I didn't want to mod for RGB though so I let someone else get their hands on it. Hopefully one of my 2 SNES is 1chip and I can either fix my broken one or the new one is 1chip.
