  1. Control Metro Exodus Star Wars Battlefront 2 Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Ori and the Will of the Wisps The Messenger Doom Eternal Resident Evil 3 Final Fantasy VII Remake Wolfenstein: The New Order Super Meat Boy Titanfall 2 Gravity Rush Remastered Halo 2 Anniversary The Last of Us Part II Momodora III - Cute and short little metroidvania/platformer, not sure its really worth playing. I'd highly recommend just playing RutM and Minoria Minoria - Sequel game to Momodora series. Love the parry system the game introduces, dislike that the fastest way to move around is by spamming dodge. Still prefer Momodora RutM, but if you liked that you'll like this. Gunfire Revolt - Beat all the bosses on Elite. Really excited to see where this game goes when it gets out of early access. Its a super fun roguelite shooter, never though I'd actually give a positive feedback to a roguelite.
  2. I'd probably go more towards entry level hobbyists rather than lazy. I had this conundrum years ago when I was trying to get into landscape astrophotography and buy a decent bike to ride to work everyday. I had about a $500 limit for a decent bike and my biking coworker urged me to spend more and that I would get so much more return from the bike. I'm glad I didn't because the bike I bought was exactly what I needed to be. My photography coworker was much more level headed about it. He gave me an entry level body to shop for with a handful of lenses. Said if this becomes a much more serious you can always spend more after the fact, but people get pushed away when you throw a lot at them. Start small and get bigger. I never bought another body, I did pick up some more expensive lenses, but thats about as far as the hobby has gone.
  3. Can vouch for the Philips SHP9500S. Used them for a good year or 2 before picking up some DT990 Pros. Fantastic headphones.
  4. My eating habit are usually the 2 bad meals a day with a ton of snacks inbetween. I would prefer the smaller meals throughout the day with maybe one larger meal for dinner.
  5. The closest I can come to is my friends buying Crackdown for the Halo 3 beta invite. My allowance wasn't high enough for me to pull something like that so I just played the beta at their house. If Humble Bundle counts, then yeah I have some unredeemed games that will never get redeemed
  6. I sadly got him nothing. He usually says that he doesn't want anything, but will always accept and be grateful for any gift he gets. His apple watch did just die on him though. I think I'm going to give him my series 3 because I never use it.
  7. Mt Dew was my favorite drink as a teenager, but I quickly got over it. After that I was on a coke binge for probably 10 years, literally had probably 1-2 liters a day. Realized I was getting fat and cut as much sugar as I felt comfortable cutting and lost like 30lbs. Now I just drink diet soda with the occasional Mr Pibb because its my favorite and impossible to find diet around me.
  8. Do you think it would be confusing to watch season 2 if you haven't had a fresh watch of season 1?
  9. Thinking about nods into the mythos doesn't make it required reading. They don't. An elite calls the Didact by name is his opening cutscene. Cortana even pauses before saying his name for the first time "That...Didact. He manipulated Infinity's signal to get us to release him! Get up!" then a slipspace rupture opens up and MC has to escape. They don't, they spend a whole level figuring it out. "What were those things?" "Some sort of advanced defense AIs. Related to the Sentinels, I'm guessing, but it's hard to say without a closer look. C'mon, let's figure out where that transit system dumped us." "From that peek under the hood, I'd say these constructs must be mimetic in nature." "I've discovered something interesting about our new friends. When the big ones explode, that momentary flash we're seeing is actually a data purge." Then they find a terminal that calls them Prometheans, then later find out they were created using the Composer. Something a long the lines of "I thought we had a truce" "A lot can happen in 4 years". Not a great explanation, but it tells you what you need to know. They aren't friendly and you see them align themselves with the Didact in his opening cutscene. He asks why he was woken up, Cortana tells him there are intrusions on multiple decks and they need to get to the observation deck. They find they are outside a forerunner world and the covenant has been waiting/trying to open a way in. MC questions Del Rio several times throughout the campaign and definitely gets on his short end of his patience. When Cortana's rampancy allows the Didact to escape Del Rio orders Lasky/MC to hand her over for decommission. Obviously they get into an argument and Del Rio orders for his arrest and nobody makes a move against the MC. It's just Del Rio who has a problem with him. Just for clarity. Cortana's in game explanation of Rampancy "I was put into service eight years ago." "AIs deteriorate after seven, Chief." "I won't recover from rampancy, Chief." "How? How is this OK? How is putting you at risk because I can't hold it together OK? Chief, do you understand what rampancy is? Really? We don't just 'shut down'. Our cognitive processes begin dividing exponentially according to our total knowledge base. We literally think ourselves to death." I just explained everything with things that happen in game or with in-game dialogue. I never stated it was a good story or that it was told in a good way. I stated the opposite 2 posts prior.
  10. Give me an example or something to work with. How does knowing Didact's backstory change the plot of Halo 4 in any meaningful way? Is there vital information left out in order to understand the plot? Every thread I can find about "required reading" recommends the same 4/5 books that do expand upon a lot of the characters in Halo 4, but I don't find it required to understand whats going on. Halo 5 is a different beast, that whole game is just a wreck.
  11. I'm trying to explain to you that its a misconception that they expected players to have knowledge outside of the game. Its just a poorly told story, but I appear to be doing it as poorly as the game did.
  12. Because I'm bored at work and have nothing better to do. Also because my buddy follows DD pretty closely and I'm feeding him news while he is asleep. Most of this was grabbed from r/livestreamfails Ex-twitch staff Shannon says doc is done and not just on twitch [Sacriel's Wife] DD's Wife thanking everyone for the support on IG Slasher - "It is not DMCA" Slasher - "This was handled outside of Trust and Safety".- That's Twitch's group that usually handles bans and punishments Also sometime during the same stream Slasher thinks its weird that his wife is standing by him, but I'm not watching a 6 hour stream to find it. TimTheTatMan - "All he said was he was talking to Twitch to figure out what happened" There was also a clip of Tim on twitch letting out a sigh of relief after getting a message from Doc, but I can't seem to find it again.
  13. Well excusing the fact that we don't even know which Didact is present in Halo 4 until 3rd book in the forerunner trilogy released months later. What exactly gets told to the player through the books about him, the composer, the Prometheans, or the Librarian that would change the how the players who didn't perspective on the story? If we changed the Didact to Faber, would that have any meaningful changes to the plot of Halo 4?
  14. It was mostly negative when it first dropped on steam, but it looks like it crawled its way back to Mixed. I stayed away from it, but I hope it gets it together as I'm generally a fan of the series.
  15. I mean it is the first time anyone has seen a Forerunner. The species that gets talked about for an entire trilogy, about how they were this great race, had this immense technology, and creators of the Halo rings and ark. The books focus more on the Flood war and the fall of the Forerunners. The Ur-Didact isn't even portrayed as a villain nor is he the main focus of the books. He believes the Halo rings go against everything the Mantle represents and works to halt their construction, when he fails the Iso-Didact and the Librarian have a back up plan to reseed all of the worlds and their species after the Halo rings fire. Just wait, Halo 10 is going to have the precursors come back in their non-corrupted flood form and attempt to destroy the galaxy and make them look as bad as they did the Forerunners.
  16. Bought: Rabi-ribi - Game is overwhelmingly positive, but the artwork/screenshots was always a little too weird for me. $8 whatever, I'm a sucker for metroidvanias We Happy Few - Always been on my radar, was disappointed when it got mixed/negative reviews. $12 is cheap enough that I don't care if its not that good. PayDay 2 - Co-worker said him and his buddies still play it weekly. Whatever its $13 for almost everything, if I don't play it he said he would venmo me $13. Minoria - Follow up game to Momodora series, seems a little mixed, but still positive. Doom 64 - Need to buy Doom Eternal after the DLC comes out so I can buy the definitive version or whatever for cheap. My fault for not reading GMG, but still sucks it was bethesda launcher.
  17. The Forerunners up to this point were largely unexplored and I'm not sure the 2 books in the Forerunner trilogy (Silentium released after Halo 4) really fill in anything that you would need to know about the plot. Though I haven't read them in years, I could be wrong. Having glazed over a plot summary of Glasslands I'm not sure it does anything either. Some additional information, like about the Forerunner/human/flood war, are explained in the terminals. All of these can provide better insight into the universe, but aren't absolutely necessary. It basically boils down to this. The Didact doesn't think humanity is ready to take the Mantle of Responsibility and therefore is putting in motion plans to prevent it. Everything is told in game, if a bit bluntly. Like the Mantle is literally explained as "Guardianship for all living things" and thats it.
  18. Now I just need a good sale of Doom Eternal and I'll never have to use the bethesda launcher again
  19. No No A good friend and her wife contracted it, also at least 3 co-workers. Weren’t allowed in areas they had been until it got sanitized.
  20. Not really sure how the banished would become the main protagonists of Infinite as Cortana is running around the universe wreaking havoc, but you know whatever.
