So an entire, what, FOUR-phase final boss that can annihilate you in one combo...that's where I gave up and I don't mind because I ended up playing up to him three times by now and thoroughly enjoying the game anyway. Fuck you Isshin, you'll never get me It's really only his last phase that's the issue and you don't have to parry him that much. I promise you he's easier than you think if you are able to play up to him. It's really just about knowing when to avoid him and when to attack. I actually enjoy the faster paced, dodge heavy combat of Sekiro more than the other from games. I still need to beat Dark Souls 2 and 3 and Bloodborne though. I hate saying that, but they just become unfun and I'm playing a game to be fun. Hell I like Bloodborne and didn't beat it either, sucks. As an older gamer I just don't enjoy getting my ass kicked ridiculously easy over and over again. I'm not an angry person, never throw shit break controllers and shit like that, but there not fun! That said, I did beat Demon souls, and that is why I keep trying to like all the games that came after it. I beat Ninja Gaiden Black too, so maybe I'm just to old... I'm an older gamer as well and I've beaten my fair share of Souls and Souls like games. They can be frustrating but they are almost always rewarding to beat. The key to these games is PATIENCE. Once you get the patterns of the bosses down, they aren't that tough. I've beaten Demon's Souls Dark Souls Lords of the Fallen Sekiro Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order I own most of the Souls and Souls-like games and plan on playing and beating them all at some point. Dodger
I would say demons souls becomes the easiest because the bosses are a ton easier overall. And the balancing is fucked and some shit is just OP because it’s the first game. But in the beginning going in blind it’s actually fairly hard. The basic weapon upgrade system is convoluted and early upgrades barely increase your damage, and you can through your grasses quickly. But it gets easier as you go on. Is FO considered a souls game? I need to replay that on PS5, maybe it will actually run without breaking. ive beaten: Demon’s Souls (original) Dark Souls 2&3 Bloodborne (my personal favourite) Nioh 1 SW:JFO Nioh 2 was on the list, but with a remaster coming, I can wait. Im about 2/3 through Sekiro, I love it, and I think its the hardest game Ive played of this kind.

skillzdadirecta
Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order is "Baby's First Dark Souls" Quote When I first heard the game being compared to Dark Souls in terms of how it handled the complexity of combat, I was a bit concerned, considering that series is not really my thing. I’ve dabbled in it, but the only game of that style I’ve seen to completion is Bloodborne, which was a trip, but far from my usual fare. Now that the game has arrived, I can see that Fallen Order is not just using Dark Souls inspiration in its combat, it’s using Dark Souls as a roadmap for pretty much the entire game, with a pinch of God of War thrown in for good measure. Quote Of course, the main difference here is that Jedi: Fallen Order is generally far less punishing than Dark Souls games in many ways. It does feel like “Baby’s first Dark Souls” in terms of all the concessions it makes, and yet I would argue that’s not a bad thing. Instead, it’s a look at what a series like Dark Souls might look like if it did have difficulty options and the end result is a game for…all kinds of players. Anything pyromancer/fire in general is always a great choice in Demon's up to Dark Souls III in my experience. It tends to be really strong and easy to upgrade. Sure... that's why its considered a "Souls-LIKE" or a "Baby's first Souls game" as explained in the article I linked and not a "Souls Game". Aside from being able to a change the difficulty, it has more similarities to the Souls series than not. And if you played it on the harder difficulties like I did, it's pretty similar to the experience you would get from a souls game with a far more coherant story. Bloodporne
Did Fallen Order ever get patched up? I stayed away from it for now because it seemed to be really buggy and have issues so I figured I'd wait. I've banged that drum before but my favorite Souls-like game is actually the first The Surge so for anyone who hasn't tried it, give it a shot if you're looking for a tight game in that vein, it's always on sale. I don't really think it got a fair chance when it was released and was written off too quickly as a clone but I think it actually brings a lot of its own cool ideas to the table.
