I'm really loving this game. Looks great and plays like butter.

When I'm not on mobile I can probably share some more detailed impressions.

Is there a password system in this like they had in Bloodborne and up? It'd be fun to kick each others' asses in some PvP once my PS5 finally manages to saunter to me.

I actually haven't figured out the PvP or PvE stuff yet! BUT, I've beaten two bosses in the first area, got my ass kicked at the fourth headstone, but am doing better at the second headstone, so maybe I'll figure it out soon. :p

Yeah that’s it. Smh stupid giant fire things

From what i understand, X-1 is like the first level in a world, and the second lamp is X-2 and a lot harder. When I go back to the game, in breaking to a world I haven't been because fuck them indeed.

Also they need to be attacked by a spear or rapier.

The tunnel guys are also really weak to magic, so using a magic weapon or spells will fuck them up real good. Game gets "harder" with each stage as you mentioned, but it's mostly the same enemies just with more HP and they hit harder, but by that point you should have learned how to effectively exploit the weaknesses in their attack patterns which makes it actually easier to beat them.

I look forward to it. I'm on 3-2 and was kicking ass until I chased a lizard off a cliff. :|

Took down 3-1 last night. Really enjoyed that level. Not a ton of enemies but still a good amount of suspense. I didn’t see the interesting solution to the boss though? Unless you meant the way you properly identify it? Then yeah that took me a few minutes before I noticed it haha

Well, it was funny to me because

Spoiler

first, I saw that guy from afar from the other tower and thought, "Eek, that'll be trouble"

Then I tried to get close and saw conflicting hints on the ground as to whether or not to trust him, and something about getting the trap from this foe. So I just ran off.

Later, I visited again and saw a hint about trusting him, so I went there an got the keys on the wall and spoke to him. Cool.

Then I helped someone tried to beat the boss but I wasn't transported back and the fog was still up. Weird.

Then I went back to my world and beat the boss, and I hear this guy scream. It says up above as a hint, but I'm thinking someone is right up the steps that I have to defeat, so I look for him, and then I leave and face the boss again and thought maybe he's there during the fight. Didn't see anything.

Then I thought about it and thought, "The only other guy I saw was that magician guy I was scared of at first." I went there and killed him and that's when I finally noticed that he was sitting right above the boss fight.

  • 3 weeks later...

Made it to the Tower Knight and man, if that ain’t some bullshit. Easily the most ridiculously punishing boss run of any Souls game given that the run is basically the entire area (which wouldn’t be so bad if it weren’t for the entire platoon of enemies waiting at the very end).

Not going to lie though, I thoroughly welcome dragon bridge tips.

Tower Knight is actually really really really really really easy. If you run around him, he'll never hit you. For the dragon bridge, it's usually best to start running through once it's halfway past the bridge. There are also alternate routes below the bridges.

Lemme know once you get to around level 36 because I need some mega help getting to pure white soul tendency.

I think I'm at 19.

Also, reading the early posts in this thread is hilarious...This looks, sounds, and feels like a Souls game. Y'all are on some shit if you think Bluepoint somehow crossed the brand. My only complaint (and I've never played the original, so maybe it has always been this way) is the backstab hit box, because the angle feels slightly wonky compared to the other games (granted it feels different in all of them, but in DeS it doesn't feel quite as good).

They did retain a lot of the jank from the original which is good and also bad because the game is a step above but removing the jank would improve the game but they can't because they're trying to stay true to the original.

I need to get with you when you get to 26/27 for soul white tendency if that's cool. I couldn't manage that in World 3 in my last run.
