The vaccine generates robust immunity after one dose and can be stored in ordinary freezers instead of at ultracold temperatures, according to new research and data released...

Second dose in, didn't wait the 15 minutes though, some bastard decided to take his mask off in the middle of the waiting area and start coughing.

Everyone in my house is now fully vaccinated. My parents got it because they are over 65 and registered as my back up caregivers, my girlfriend got it since she's my primary caregiver during COVID, and I got it by, well, nevermind.

I still don't understand what specific relevant expertise a health insurance company like Blue Shield has in terms of something like vaccine distribution. Kaiser is also involved but that makes a lot more sense given that they operate and end-to-end healthcare system.

Blue Shield of California will immediately begin attempting to centralize the state's COVID-19 vaccination program after a sluggish start.

Two confirmed cases of Covid in my office of 30 and the official answer is to stay in our offices as much as possible and go get tested after work when we have time.

More importantly, the first confirmed case was an anti-masker who made a show of refusing to wear his mask around the office. The company still refuse to implement a mask mandate despite there being one person left who refuses to wear one because it would be unfair to them.

You should have refused to wear pants. The company would be unable to implement a pants mandate because it would be unfair to you.

As petty as it is, I've actually considered coming in in some utterly ridiculous fucking outfit and sit in a professional meeting and citing exactly that reason.

Dose 2 kicked my girlfriend's ass, severe chills the night after the shot, fever, body aches. She felt slightly better the next day then I felt run down, so we basically just slept all day yesterday. Both fine as of this morning.

Minus the aches...that sounds awesome actually. Hope she feels better, Sir!

I know some people have completely lost their smell and taste and then when things come back their senses of smell and taste are different but have people ever just had muted alterations to smell and taste without ever completely losing them? Would you still feel the heat from hot sauce or the mint sensation of toothpaste with the taste of it being suppressed? Or is it really extremely obvious if you get hit with the smell/taste loss?

Woke up feeling weird today. Feel like things taste a little muted and possibly ever so slightly off but I do taste things; but I could just be psyching myself out. Waiting on my COVID test result (went first thing this morning) but a little antsy in the meantime. I got dragged into the office for an unnecessary meeting on Tuesday so it's not helping that if I did catch it on Tuesday, I'm on exactly the right timeline for symptoms to start appearing.

I've been saying it for a while now, but it seems worth repeating: the time for optimism is here. Little hiccups will happen along the way, but the days grow brighter and brighter.

Friend of mine who got it still hasn't gotten it all back a month later.  He said  he could always feel heat though, he had a buffalo chicken bowl and all he tasted was the heat.

Did he completely lose his taste first though? My sense of taste seems muted today but it was fine leading up to today and now it just seems muted, I'm definitely tasting more than just the heat of hot sauce for instance. Trying to figure out if going directly from having a normal sense of taste to a muted sense of taste without ever completely losing it is a possibility.

He did, but I imagine there are degrees of everything.  I had some Five Guys with him yesterday and he commented on how he could taste the ketchup but that the rest of it not so much
