Do you have the option to do 40? I really like that mark that they set because imo, and I know I'm only a console gamer only, it feels almost as fluid as 60fos to me. But I'm in the minority in that opinion I'm sure. I think it's great and much better than 30.

You're not. VRR making lower fps seem smoother is the main point of it.

I have vrr, ill definitely be playing whatever feels better between that and 60.

I think the main issue is the YouTube algo recommending vids with spoiler thumbnails and descriptions.

Yeah I missed it when it came out then the timing was never right. I was going to play it finally for the first time in vr but then they announced the remake and after how good RE2R was I had to wait to experience it first with the remake, should be an awesome experience for me.

Awesome. I used to do that all the time but I have no days left to use. It's ALWAYS worth taking the day off. Especially for a 3 day weekend.

Ff7 and FF7R are very, very unlikely to end in anything close to the same way, imo. In that case, I think not at least watching a recap of the original actually does a great disservice to the story of the new one. It's pretty unique like that, though.

Please give me an AI Partner Banter slider or some shit this time around. The Uncharted-ism of spoiling every one of the mildest puzzles by having the kid immediately tell you what to do when entering a room was frustrating in the first one.

 

But anyway, game looks fucking great based on the recent footage and I wasn't even paying attention before to be honest. Too much good stuff to play lately. Sounds like they really worked on the original's shortcomings.

I just replayed this and have no memory of this happeneing? The only thing I can recall is when you revisit a room he'll comment that a path is open or something, but I don't remember him saying anything beyond that.

A good example is the large main hall in the mining cave area. You walk in and shortly after he goes "what about the ropes over there". It's a pet peeve of mine in modern gaming in general.

I haven't looked at any footage since the release date drop, but I have listened to some spoiler free podcasts, and the gameplay sounds incredible. 

 

2018 is among my favorite games, so I'm very, very excited for this.

Ah that's fair. I guess I didn't consider something like that hand holding, given that there's literally nothing else that can be done in that situation. IIRC the other, more puzzley stuff, he doesn't do that.
